Run.
I sharply turned a corner, almost losing grip on the journal I tightly held to my chest. "Quickly, she's getting away!" A voice yelled, echoing down the halls of the labyrinth which I was trapped in.
If I had listened to Stan, I wouldn't have dragged Dipper and Mabel into this mess with me. I ignored my guilt and focused on the task at hand. I promised Dipper I would protect the journal from the Blind Eye's, I can't feel sorry now. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a cloaked society member jumping out in front of me. I ducked as they reached out to grab me and ran the opposite way, only to find myself face to face another member.
They began to slowly walk towards me, arms outstretched while doing so. My eyes widened in fear as I backed up. I suddenly cried out as a member of the society appeared and grabbed me from behind. "Let go of me!" I yelled while trying to free myself from his grip. My heart sank as my wrists were bounded behind my back and a cloth was tied over my mouth.
I watched as one other member had noticed the journal lying on the ground. He picked it up and studied it carefully, before calling over one of the men. The man holding the journal leaned over and whispered something to the other member. He silently nodded and reached into his cloak, handing him a small object.
My heart stopped as a bright flame emerged from the lighter that was tightly gripped in his hand. He is going to burn the book. I cried out, yanking on the restraints. My muffled cries went ignored as he lowered the lighter under the journal and lit it aflame, dropping it in the process. I watched in horror as the flames engulfed the book until it was no more than ash. The man chuckled quietly and turned to me, smiling at my expression.
"Bring her to the chair." He smirked as I struggled and was dragged away by the members. I shouted through my gag, but nothing more than mumbled words and grunts escaped. I should have listened! Now me and everybody else I dragged along are going to die and it's all my fault! I felt tears leak down my face and I quickly shut my eyes, hoping that the Blind Eye's haven't seen them.
"Why are you crying? I thought you would have seen this coming." I looked up questionably at the member, blinking back tears.
"After all, in Gravity Falls; there's no one you can trust."
