"James Potter, where in the world are you taking me? It's early in the morning and I don't want to be late for classes."
"Will you just be patient for once, Evans? I—"
"I have a name, you know."
James sighed, shaking his head. "I know you do, I'm not that much of an idiot. But what I was going to say before you so rudely interrupted me, Lily, is that I want it to be a surprise. Besides, we're just about there anyway."
Lily scoffed slightly at the word rudely, but didn't say anything in response.
She simply resisted and let James lead her to wherever he wanted to take her, and then she would be able to leave and be on her way. Simple as that.
"Alright, we're here!" James stated proudly, although there was an undertone of mischief that Lily caught, and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not.
James untied the blindfold and slowly removed it from her face.
She had to blink a few times before she could really see anything, because the world became brighter far too quickly for her liking, but once she could see, she had decided that it wasn't anything wonderful like she had expected. In fact, it was the exact opposite.
"You're telling me that you brought me all the way here just so you could show off your stupid flying skills?" Lily glared angrily at James, who stood proudly next to her, sitting on his broomstick.
They were standing in the middle of the quidditch pitch, and Lily was anything but happy.
"Au contraire, my dear Evans. I'm telling you to get on this broomstick so we can fly together."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're not serious."
James smirked, patting the space behind him. "Try me."
Lily looked up at the early morning blue sky.
She happened to be quite afraid of heights, and James knew that. What was he thinking?
Not turning back and mounting onto the back of the broom, Lily shook her head and sighed, attempting to act nonchalant about the whole thing, as if it wasn't a big deal at all.
"Alright, but don't you dare push it, Potter."
A wicked grin on his face, James pushed off of the ground and they flew into the air.
Lily squeaked in surprise, and grasped onto James as tightly as she could, holding on for her life and trying her hardest to not look down.
They flew around for a bit, James as smug as ever, before he stopped abruptly and turned to face her.
That surprised Lily and she jerked sideways, but James was quick to catch her.
"Caught you," he whispered, before pulling her in for a kiss.
They separated soon after, and without speaking, flew back towards the ground once more.
This would be a good morning kiss that Lily would never forget.
