I don't own House of Anubis or anything that can cause me to get into trouble.

Sixth Grade, age twelve

Eddie sat on the brick wall in front of his middle school. He'd just finished football practice forty minutes ago, though it felt like forever.

Where is mom? Eddie thought. He'd seen the entire sixth grade football team get into their parent's cars and drive away. He was the last one now.

"Did your parents forget you too?" asked a girl's voice.

Eddie's head whipped around to see a girl with long dirty blonde, wavy hair, brown eyes and a white and blue lacrosse uniform on. She had her lacrosse stick in her hand and a dark green bag hanging on her shoulder.

"No," Eddie grumbled. "just late."

The girl shrugged and sat on the short wall next to him. "I'm pretty sure my dad forgot me. He always does." the girl put down her stuff then turned back to Eddie. "I'm Grace, by the way." she said with an award winning smile.

"Eddie," I replied. Eddie looked at Grace curiously. "Are you new, or something? I haven't seen you before."

"I'm new. I just moved here from Rochester to live with my dad." Grace answered. "What grade are you in?"

"Sixth."

Grace smiled. "Me too. Maybe we can hang out sometime."

Eddie returned the smile. Grace seemed like a cool girl, something is rare since he'd started middle school. All the nice and smart girls that always looked pretty without makeup suddenly show up rude and dumb with globs of makeup on their faces. "Sure."

A silver Camry pulled up and Grace jumped off the wall, grabbing her stuff. "That's my dad. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Yeah. See ya." Eddie smiled as Grace and her dad drove away.

He took out his phone and started playing games and txting his friend Daniel till his mom showed up.

An hour late. Eddie thought as he settled into my passenger seat of his mom's car. New record.

A/N: Please review if you liked this and if you want me to continue because I love hearing feedback! If you follow any of my other stories, please know that I'm in somewhat of a 'writer's block' in some and in others I'm never in the creative mood to write for that so the chapter ends up crappy and drones out till you just feel like skipping through it. Who wants to read that?

Sorry for my babbling,

Lauren

PS: Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! :)
