I Would Have Shot Him

Summary: This is what SHOULD have happened in my opinion. Because seriously Daito, the gig was up, why didn't you just Zero him?

Story Start: Oasis

As Sorento glanced at something he was seeing reflected in the shiny metal of his rig, Daito tightened the hand holding his pistol. Their charade seemed to have been discovered, but there was one more thing they could still do before they lost the man.

Sorento slowly looked back forward and said "This isn't real. You've hacked my rig."

"Mhm-hm" Daito hummed an affirmative before he began rapidly firing his pistol at the now revealed Avatar. The virtual bullets tore through the guy, his 'armor' of high tech sensory synthesis suit both doing absolutely nothing to protect him from the bullets AND having the rather unfortunate side effect of making Sorento feel like he got riddled with holes IRL. Sorento's Avatar spasmed in the rig before it broke apart, leaving a veritable mountain of gold and loot.

In IOI headquarters, Sorento staggered out of the rig, red light completely covering his torso from where his suit was sending phantom pain to his nerves. He collapsed unconscious from simulated pain overload causing his flunkies to panic as they rushed into the room, quickly stripping him of his suit and rushing him to the building's main medical room. The man would not regain consciousness for several hours, and once he did, would find the police standing in front of his bed ready to arrest him after Aech sent them the recording of his confession of killing Wade Watt's aunt and the other residents of that Stack. Incidentally, without him sounding the alarm on her escape, Samantha was able to do a lot of damage on the inside during the upcoming battle, taking down entire squads of Sixers in a manner that would make her Avatar's namesake proud.

Back in the Oasis, the other members of High Five quickly gathered around the loot Sorento's Avatar had left and Aeich let out an impressed whistle as he held up the miniature model of Mechagodzilla. Shaking 'his' head, the girl roleplaying as a male cyborg whistled and said "Man, this guy had some nice toys."

Parzival grinned as he held up a miniature model of the Transformers film version of Megatron and said "Yeah, what say we put them to good use?" He got grins from everyone else and they began going through the loot to find what they wanted.

IOI's Sixers got a rather nasty surprise when at the start of the battle, they faced not only an army of Avatars but over a dozen giant mechanical enemies, Parzival having rather generously spread out Sorento's hoarded 'weapons of mobile mass destruction' to his 'troops'. Parzival himself waded through the ranks as Mechagodzilla next to Aech's Iron Giant, pun most definitely intended and as Daito crushed another group of people from inside his captured Wing Gundam mech, Toshiro grinned as he said to himself "Thank you Sorento."
