I was sitting on the couch watching as Trina left for yet another break from decorating the Christmas tree when the doorbell rang. "Tori get the door!" Trina yelled from up the stairs.
"I guess I'll go get the door then." I said to the empty room.
"Jade?" I spoke out, surprised to see her on the other side of the door.
Knowing there weren't any witnesses in the room I dreadfully closed the door after she rushed in passed me. Once I turned to face her she said "Merry Christmas". There was something different in the tone of her voice but before I could differentiate it, Jade had me in her hold, kissing me in her arms. As she pulled away I kept my eyes shut, not knowing what I'd meet when I opened them. But as rattled as I was I had to see and as fast as Jade had come in, she had rushed out.
"Who was it?" Trina asked coming down the steps. "Wrong number." I said still trying to catch up with what had just happened.
"What?" Trina shrilly spoke looking confused. I paused a second while looking at her, not really seeing her until my eyes finally focused. "Uh, wrong house number; it was a delivery." "Oh." she said a bit disappointed.
"Hey Trina, I'll be in my room if you need me." I spoke while getting a bottle of water from the kitchen. I walked up the stairs stopping near the top and looked to my left at that spot; replaying the whole scene from Jade's arrival to seconds before Trina's entrance as I observed from atop.
"How did this happen?" I spoke to myself closing my door, flopping onto my bed. "How did all these feelings just appear? Or have I been harboring them inside me all this time?" my thoughts kept me company as I held a pillow tight, hoping to get some comfort for my now worrying mind.
Too spooked by what could be waiting in my dreams I fought sleep until the tiredness won. Hoping my head would be clearer by morning; I still knew things between Jade and I would never, could never be the same. I gave up for the moment, closed my eyes and drifted off into a slumber.
The End.
This was my first fic ever so I hope it wasn't too bad of a read.
