For cooliochick5: who requested Julie overhearing Mike and Chuck. I hope you like it, dear!
Bad Manners
Julie hummed the theme song to one of Texas's favorite shows, as she walked the long hallway of the Burner's dorms. She slowed down when she heard a familiar whine coming from Chuck's room. Perfect, she was hoping to have Chuck to a look at the hologram software in 9Lives. She stopped dead in her tracks when she realized that Chuck wasn't alone.
"Come on, Mike. You promised. You said the next time we'd had some time off you'd do this with me."
"Yeah, I know I did Chuckles, but it's bigger than I thought it would be. Can you really blame me for having a few doubts?"
"But it's not like we've never done it before."
"Yeah, but it's been a while and I don't know if it will be like last time," Mike said sounding unsure.
"Mikey, trust me, it'll be like ridin' a bicycle or Mutt. It'll come back to you."
There was a slight pause and then Mike sighed. "Okay, fine. Come here, let's get this over with."
Julie held her hands to her mouth and held her breath as she listened in. What in the world was going on in there? A part of her knew that she shouldn't be ease dropping, but well she was a spy after all, and she had had suspicions that Mike and Chuck were closer than they led on. Was she finally hearing the proof of it?
She jumped as she heard Mike grunt followed by Chuck's squeaking and something gliding across the floor.
Chuck yelled in delight. "Oh, God, Mikey! You gotta me some warning before you do that. You can't just shove like that; you could have seriously hurt me."
"Sorry, honey," Mike apologized sarcastically.
Julie closed her eyes as her imagination was flooded with the possibilities of what the two teens were doing. The spy wasn't sure what it said about her that the first thought to filter into her mind was an intimate moment between her friends. Her thought were interrupted at the sound of Chuck encouraging Mike.
"Harder Mike. Harder!"
"I'm doing the best I can." The Burner leader huffed. "You know this would be a whole lot easier if you moved, too." Mike said, groaning loudly.
"I can barely stand as it is." Chuck breathed. There was a grunt from Mike and a breathless whimper from Chuck and then a low groan from both teens and then a double sigh of relief. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
"No," Mike admitted. "But maybe there could be less clothes?"
"I'll keep that in mind for next time."
Mike snorted, "If there is a next time."
"You bet there'll be a next time." Chuck said with a chuckle. "And to think you didn't want to do it in the first place."
"You know I like playing hard to get."
"Yeah, I know." Chuck laughed.
"Will you hand me my jacket?"
"Leaving so soon?"
"Yeah, while this has been fun, I gotta run an errand for Jacob and I want to do it before dark."
"Okay."
"Don't give me that face. I'll be back soon and then the real fun can begin."
Julie turned to go when Chuck's door opened and Mike strolled out; red faced and sweaty. "Oh, hey Jules, what's up?"
"Uh, nothing," the red head stammered and gave Mike an overly wide grin. "Have you seen Chuck?"
If Mike noticed her strange behavior he didn't say anything. He raised his arm and gestured behind him with his thumb. "He's in his room. I just helped him move his freaking heavy dresser. Though I don't know why he has one, he always wears the same thing." Mike said and placing his hands on his hips he bowed his head and shook it affectionately.
"Oh, so that's what you were doing? For a second I thought you were- It doesn't matter."
Mike looked up, his face scrunching into confusion. "What?"
"Um, nothing. Chuck's in his room?"
"Yep."
"Great. Uh, see you around Mike."
"See you, Jules." Mike held up a hand in farewell.
Julie exhaled, feeling the tension leave her.
"Oh, and Jules?"
"Yes, Mike?"
"It's not good to eavesdrop on your friends. It's bad manners."
