Perfect Friend
I searched among the card displays to see if I could find,
A little something that would say just what was on my mind.
However there was not one card that captured it just right,
For no one else could understand just what I want to write.
Even now it is difficult to try and write this down,
I'm still not sure it's possible to describe one so renowned?
I close my eyes to ruminate about who and what I see;
A woman whose soul is beautiful – practically stain-free.
Perhaps you don't consider yourself, but you are and will always be,
A leader and a champion for all the world to see.
My friend, I tell you, you're a hero. You've helped me see the light.
When my world was in darkness…you saved me, you were my sight.
You helped me through countless problems, through all things both good and bad.
You helped me keep on smiling, even when I was sad.
The world is filled people, that's true; but without you what kind of world would that be?
You're a God-sent gift from up above: a blessing is what you are to me.
I will forever thank the Lord for finding a friend like that is true.
You're there to listen, help, and talk to; I know I can confide in you.
It is impossible to repay, the kindness that you have shown me,
But I can be your shoulder to cry on, of this I hope you see.
Burdens, like the Lord's cross, are lighter when carried by two.
That is why I hope you know that I will always be here for you.
Open your arms to change, but please never lose yourself.
You're what makes you who you are, in sickness and in health.
You'll go places you've never gone and you'll make it to the top.
You'll make new friends and keep on living 'cause life just doesn't stop.
As the years pass by if we grow apart or our paths don't cross again,
You should know that I won't forget you, my dearest and truest friend.
I trust you know words can't describe the many qualities you show,
The loving and caring nature shared with everyone you know.
I struggle and I search to find some words that can say anew...
And yet I cannot capture all the things that make you, you.
I shall therefore be satisfied, that you will simply know,
You're the greatest friends I'll ever have, someone no words can show.
You're a wonderful person, Usagi-chan, who truly loves without end.
And I hope that in reading this you'll know, to me you're the perfect friend.
