Lucy always wanted to have a romantic time with her husband, Gru, but who will watch out for Margo, Edith, and Agnes? Then one day, she had a plan. She ran to the computer and printed out fliers that had something to do about a babysitter and she hung them around outside.
A few days later, Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith, and Agnes were having breakfast together and the door knocked. "Who's that?" Lucy asked. Gru shrugged. He got up and answered the door. There was a lemur at the door. "Hello Felonius Gru!" The lemur yelled. Gru screamed, closed the door, tripped on something, and fell on the floor.
"What was that?" Lucy asked. The girls shrugged. Then Lucy saw Gru on the ground. "Gru?" Lucy asked. Gru saw Lucy. "Lucy. There's a crazy lemur!" Gru yelled. "Lemur? Lemurs live in a zoo. What's a lemur doing here?" Lucy asked and she opened the door.
"You must be Lucy." The lemur said. Then Lucy punched him. "Whoa." The lemur said. "Who are you and what are you doing to Gru!?" Lucy yelled. "I was just wondering if you need a babysitter. I saw a flier." The lemur said. "Oh. Now you got me interested." Lucy said and she helped Gru up from the floor.
"Who are you?" Lucy asked. "My name is King Julien! But you can call me King Julien." Julien said. The girls walked over. "A talking lemur?" Edith asked. "Ew." Margo said. Agnes laughed.
"Aw. You girls are so cute." Julien said. "Stay away from them!" Gru yelled. "Gru, relax. I wasn't going to hurt them." Julien said. "Well I got hurt." Gru said. "You fell on the floor." Lucy said. "I didn't mean to scare you. Can I be the babysitter?" Julien asked.
"Wait. Let me get this straight. You sneak out of a zoo, come in here without permission, freak me out, and then ask if you can babysit the girls?" Gru asked. "Yes." Julien said. "So can I be the babysitter?"
"No." Gru said and he closed the door. "Hang on Gru. I know this was unexpected, but we can't just say no to him." Lucy said. "There's no way we're letting a lemur be in charge of Margo, Edith, and Agnes!" Gru yelled and he walked away.
Lucy opened the door. Julien was still there. "Hey Julien. Sorry about what happened." Lucy said. "What's with Gru?" Julien asked. "Oh he doesn't trust lemurs." Lucy said. "Oh, but you have to trust me. I'm a very fun babysitter. My girlfriend told me." Julien said.
"Girlfriend?" Lucy asked. "I have a girlfriend and her name is Clover." Julien said. "Cool." Lucy said. "Lucy, you better not be talking to that lemur." Gru said. "Okay. I've got to go." Lucy said and she closed the door.
Julien walked away from Gru's house. He sighed. "How can I prove to Gru and Lucy that I'm a great babysitter?" Julien asked. Then he saw Clover. "Clover! Hey, how's my pretty lady doing?" Julien asked.
Clover looked at Julien. "Ugh Julien. How many times do I have to tell you? We are not boyfriend and girlfriend. We're just friends." Clover said. "Oh. Anyway, I found these fliers and I want to be the best babysitter ever. So I went to that black house." Julien said and he pointed to Gru's house.
"You mean the house that looks like a haunted house and that looks nothing like the other houses?" Clover asked. "Yes!" Julien yelled. "Oh Julien." Clover said. "Look, I just have to prove to Felonius Gru that I'm a great babysitter." Julien said.
"Who's Felonius Gru?" Clover asked. "He used to be a supervillain, but now he's a father of three girls and has a job at the Anti-Villain League with his wife Lucy." Julien said.
"Let me get this straight. You're trying to prove to an ex-villain that you're a babysitter, while in real life, you never took care of kids before." Clover said. "Exactly! So? What do you think?" Julien asked.
"I think that it's very stupid, Julien." Clover said. "Whatever, come on. I want you to meet him and his family." Julien said. "Does he want to met me?" Clover asked. "I know he does. He was very happy when he met me." Julien said. "Come on!" Julien yelled and he grabbed Clover. "Whoa!" Clover yelled.
Back at Gru's house, Gru was talking to Lucy. "I never want to see another come here again. Otherwise….freeze ray!" Gru yelled. "Gru, cool it." Lucy said. Then the door knocked. "I got it." Margo said and she opened the door.
"Hello? Oh." Margo said and closed the door. "Who's that?" Lucy asked. "Gru, go to the door." Margo said. Gru walked over and he opened the door.
"What!? Didn't I tell you? No! You are not babysitting my girls!" Gru yelled and he took his weapon out and fired it. Julien screamed. "Wait, Gru! Stop! It's me, Julien." Julien said.
"I know who you are. Why are you here again?" Gru asked. "I want you to meet my girlfriend." Julien said. Clover walked over. "Hello. My name is Clover. You must be Felonius Gru." Clover said. "Yes. I am Gru." Gru said.
"Look. I'm sorry about Julien." Clover said. "Is he your boyfriend?" Gru asked. "No. We're not dating. He's just a friend." Clover said. "Tell your friend to leave us alone!" Gru yelled. "I will." Clover said and she grabbed Julien and walked away.
"What happened?" Edith asked. "Lemur." Gru said. "Give him a chance Gru." Lucy said. Gru sighed. "Fine." Gru said. Julien and Clover walked back. "I'll give you a chance." Gru said. "Yes! Don't worry Gru, I'll be the best babysitter!" Julien yelled.
Lucy and Gru got ready for their date. "We'll be back in an hour. No later!" Gru yelled and he walked away. Lucy followed him. "Have fun girls." Lucy said in a cheerful tone. "You have fun Julien." Clover said and she walked away.
Julien closed the door. "Okay girls. I am the babysitter." Julien said. "So what are you going to do with us?" Margo asked. Julien took out six pink balls and started juggling. "Huh? Look at me girls!" Julien yelled.
"What is he doing?" Edith asked. "It looks like he's juggling." Margo said. "A talking lemur who juggles?" Edith asked. Agnes looked at Julien in a weird way. Julien was still juggling.
Lucy and Gru were at a restaurant. Lucy sighed in relief. "Isn't this nice Gru?" Lucy asked. Gru was distracted. He loves being with Lucy, but he doesn't trust Julien. "Gru? Is everything alright?" Lucy asked. "Yeah." Gru said. "What's wrong?" Lucy asked.
"Lucy, I love being with you, but I don't feel comfortable leaving a lemur in charge of the girls." Gru said. "I trust him." Lucy said. "Yeah, but when you first met him, you didn't trust him." Gru said. "But after he told me that he just wanted to be the babysitter, I was interested." Lucy said.
Gru sighed. "Look. The girls will be fine. Trust me. Right now, they're having the time of their lives." Lucy said. "I hope you're right." Gru said.
Back at the house, Margo, Edith, and Agnes were bored to death. Julien was juggling for twenty minutes. Margo was texting on her phone, Edith was tapping her foot, and Agnes fell asleep.
"Girls, look at me!" Julien yelled. "Oh we're looking alright." Margo said. "Not really." She whispered. Edith rolled her eyes. She couldn't care less.
Then the phone rang. Agnes woke up and Julien picked the phone up. "The best babysitter in the world speaking." Julien said.
"Is this Julien?" Lucy asked. "Yes." Julien said. "Hey. How are the girls?" Lucy asked. "Oh they're great." Julien said. "Good." Lucy said. "Yeah right." Gru said.
"Gru, you have to trust him." Lucy said. "May I speak to Felonius?" Julien asked. "Sure. Gru, Julien wants to talk to you." Lucy said and she handed the phone to her husband.
"Hey Gru." Julien said. "Listen up lemur, if Margo, Edith, and/or Agnes are hurt, you will be sorry!" Gru yelled. "Whoa. Don't worry. None of them are hurt." Julien said.
Lucy took the phone. "Good. Well we'll be back in an hour. Bye." Lucy said and she hung up.
Julien did the same. Margo put her phone away. "Okay girls. Let's play a game. What am I?" Julien asked and he jumped up and down. . "A unicorn!" Agnes yelled. "No." Julien said. "Julien, stop playing these games." Margo said and she called Lucy.
Lucy and Gru were talking. "Gru, who would you like to babysit the girls?" Lucy asked. "Either Dru or Dr. Nefario." Gru said. "But didn't Dr. Nefario call the orphanage?" Lucy asked. "He did, but I still trust him more than the lemur." Gru said. Lucy's phone rang.
"Hmm. I wonder who this is." Lucy said. "I bet it's one of the girls." Gru said. "Huh." Lucy said and she answered her phone. "Hello?" Lucy asked. "Lucy!" Margo yelled. "Hey Margo. How's the best babysitter ever?" Lucy asked.
"Terrible. You and Gru have to come back now!" Margo yelled. "What's happening?" Lucy asked. "He's blasting music." Margo said. "Isn't that annoying?" Lucy asked. "Oh it is." Margo said. "Don't worry. We'll be back soon." Lucy said and she hung up.
"Was it one of the girls?" Gru asked. "You were right. They can't stand Julien." Lucy said. "I know." Gru said and he crossed his arms. "Oh Gru. Look, you were right." Lucy said and sighed. "So much for having a nice time together." Lucy said.
Then she had an idea. "How about we bring the girls with us the next time we have a date?" Lucy asked. "Uh…..okay." Gru said.
Ten minutes later, they went back to their house. Gru opened the door and the entire house was a mess. There was loud music and there were feathers everywhere. Gru gasped and he was annoyed. "Whoa." Lucy said.
"Okay, what is this and who is responsible with this disaster?" Gru asked. Margo, Edith, and Agnes pointed to Julien who was dancing. Gru sighed. "I knew this was going to happen." He said.
Clover walked in. "Hello." She said and then she saw the mess. "What happened?" She asked. "The best babysitter happened!" Gru yelled and he turned the music off. "Look Gru, I'm sorry." Julien said. "The word sorry will not help this time!" Gru yelled.
"Gru…." Julien was interrupted by Gru. "I'm not kidding." Gru said. "Yep. I knew this was going to happen." Clover said and she grabbed Julien. Then they left. "Finally. He's gone." Gru said.
"But who will watch the girls?" Lucy asked. The minions walked over. "I guess the minions could." Gru said. "We'll be back soon." Lucy said and she and Gru left.
Then when they went to their car, Gru felt something on his leg. It was Julien. "Julien?" Lucy asked. "Please, Gru!" Julien yelled. "What do you want?" Gru asked. "Give me another chance!" Julien yelled. Lucy looked at Gru. "Fine. One more." Gru said. "Yes!" Julien yelled.
The next day, Lucy told the girls about Julien. "So Julien will watch you today." Lucy said. "Is he going to be stupid like yesterday?" Margo asked. "No." Lucy said. "He better not be, but if he is, I'll kick him out." Gru said. "Gru." Lucy said. "What? I will do that." Gru said. "Gru, cool it." Lucy said.
Then the doorbell rang. Gru sighed. "He's here." Gru said. Lucy got up and answered the door. "Hello….Julien?" Lucy asked. Julien had a french mustache on. "Bonjour!" He yelled. Lucy laughed.
Julien gave Lucy flowers. "I have some beautiful flowers for you, my lady." Julien said. Gru gasped and he ran over to Lucy. "What are you doing!?" Gru asked. "I was just giving flowers to your wife." Julien said.
"What's with the mustache?" Gru asked. "I just came back from France." Julien said. "Yeah right. You were here yesterday. France is a long way from here." Gru said. "I mean it. I went to Paris!" Julien said.
"Do you have proof?" Gru asked. "I do, but it's not on me." Julien said. "You're lying. I don't believe you." Gru said. "I'm not lying Gru. I actually went to Paris." Julien said. "Okay." Gru said. Then he had some questions.
"What did you see?" Gru asked. "I saw the Eiffel Tower." Julien said. "Really? Because I heard that someone stole the Eiffel Tower two weeks ago." Gru said. "I saw the Brooklyn Bridge." Julien said.
"That's in New York!" Gru yelled. "I went to Liverpool." Julien said. "That's in England." Gru said. "I saw the Great Wall." Julien said. "That's in China. Stop lying!" Gru yelled.
"Okay. I didn't go to China, England, or New York, but I did go to Paris." Julien said. "Oh yeah. Then why is your mustache fading away?" Gru asked. "Okay. It was paint." Julien said.
"I knew it! This guy is the worst babysitter in the world!" Gru yelled. "Oh man. I would love to have a babysitter who knew all those places." Lucy said.
"You do know that the Brooklyn Bridge, Liverpool, and the Great Wall aren't in France right?" Gru asked. "Yeah." Lucy said. "But wouldn't it be cool if they were? Then we can believe him."
Gru sighed. "I can't believe that you trust him. He's a goofball." Gru said. "So am I going to be with the girls?" Julien asked. "Yes." Lucy said. "No!" Gru yelled. "Gru." Lucy said. "Lucy!" Gru yelled.
Margo, Edith, and Agnes were watching the scene. Gru and Lucy were having a disagreement. Agnes gasped and whimpered. She didn't like that her father and her mother were having an argument.
"Unbelievable!" Gru yelled. "Just give him a chance." Lucy said. "I gave him one, Lucy, and he destroyed the house!" Gru yelled and he walked away. Lucy sighed.
One tear fell from Agnes's eyes. "Agnes?" Margo asked. "Gru and Lucy are fighting." Agnes said and sobbed. Lucy saw Agnes. "Oh no. Agnes!" Lucy yelled and she ran to Agnes. "Why are you and Gru fighting?" Agnes asked.
"We're not fighting. We just a little disagreement, but don't worry. We'll be fine." Lucy said. "Alright." Agnes said.
Lucy walked away and she was looking for Gru. "Gru? Gru?" Lucy asked. Then Lucy found Gru in his room. "Hey. Look, I'm sorry about what happened." Lucy said. "No Lucy. It was me. I should have trusted him." Gru said.
"It doesn't matter if we trust him or not." Lucy said. "What happened?" Gru asked. "Well after out little argument, Agnes was upset." Lucy said. "First of all, it wasn't an argument, we were disagreeing. That's normal." Gru said.
"Yeah but….do you know what a divorce is?" Lucy asked. "Yes. After Dru and I were born, my parents divorced." Gru said. "What I'm trying to say is that Agnes might think that if we argue, we will get divorced." Lucy said. "Oh. That's not happening." Gru said.
"Right. We just need to tell Agnes." Lucy said. "Yeah." Gru said. Gru and Lucy walked over to the girls and Julien.
"Listen Agnes, Lucy and I are not getting a divorce. We were disagreeing. That's all." Gru said. "Oh." Agnes said. "Now are you letting Julien babysit us?" Edith asked.
"Please?" Julien asked. Gru sighed. "Alright, alright. Just this time." Gru said. "Good." Julien said. "Don't do something stupid." Margo said. "I won't." Julien said. "I've got my eye on you lemur." Gru said. "I want to call him Ringtail." Lucy said. "That too." Gru said.
Gru and Lucy walked away. They were spying on Julien. "I don't like this." Gru said. "I know you don't." Lucy said. "Now, shh. Let's watch this."
Gru and Lucy peaked their heads in the room. Margo was bored, and Edith and Agnes were watching TV. "Hey girls!" Julien yelled. "Hello Julien." The three girls said with no excitement. "Come on girls. I want to have fun with you." Julien said. "I am going right up there and I'm going to slap that guy like there's no tomorrow." Gru said.
"No." Lucy said. "Fine." Gru said. "This is going to be hard trusting a lemur, but it will all work out in the end." Lucy said. "Fine." Gru said.
Two hours later, Julien was reading a story to the girls, but the book was upside down. Lucy was laughing. "How is this funny?" Gru asked. "He's reading a book upside down." Lucy said. Gru sighed.
"Ym eman si neiluJ." Julien said. Lucy was laughing like crazy. Gru smacked his head with his hand. "That's it. Parties over. Out!" Gru yelled. "But I didn't get to the best part." Julien said. "No. You're done." Gru said and he opened the door. "Bye girls." Julien said and he left.
"Well we tried." Lucy said. "Yeah." Gru said. Then he closed the door. "Maybe we should let Margo be in charge." Lucy said. "That could work." Gru said. Then they let Margo be in charge and Gru and Lucy went out on their date.
The End
