This is supposed to be X-Men Evolution, but I think while I was writing, Every X-Men thing popped into my head. So, they are teens, but I'm not sure that it really follows Evolution all that well. Enjoy and Review! Thanks!

Bobby's Fear, Kurt's Pain

"Kurt, I don't know if we can keep this up," Bobby said, holding Kurt's blue, furry hands. He had just pulled him into his room.

"But Bobby, vat are you saying?" Kurt asked. He started to shake. He pushed his button to make himself look human.

Bobby looked down at the floor and back up into Kurt's eyes. "I'm worried about what the rest of the X-Men might think. How would we affect the team?"

Kurt's body dropped. He let go of Bobby's hands. With a poof, he was no longer in the room.

A tear fell from Bobby's eye. The tear froze up, then he turned his whole body into ice. He opened the window, made an ice bridge, and went out into a quiet place outside the mansion. He sat under the maple tree. Loneliness sat in, until Kitty walked up to him.

"Bobby!" She shouted out.

Bobby looked up at her for a second, then looked back down. She came and sat down next to him. "Bobby, what's wrong with you?"

He looked up at her. He nervously smiled. "You wouldn't understand."

"Bobby Drake!" She yelled out. She realized that she had yelled and turned a slight shade of red. "Sorry, I just am so tired of people thinking that I don't know anything about anything."

"You don't know anything about this!" Bobby snapped. He made a new ice bridge and was off again.

Kurt was up in his room crying. He pushed the button, making himself blue and furry again. Scott Summers must have heard him because he came into the room. He sat down next to Kurt. "What's wrong, Kurt?"

Kurt had not noticed him. He looked up at Scott, stunned. "Scott," he gasped. "I'm fine."

"You don't look fine." Scott warmly smiled at him.

Kurt looked at him. His eyes narrowed. "Vould you do anyzing zat Jean vanted you to do vithout question?"

Scott's smile faded and he looked up, thinking. "I would, so long as it was something that I knew would help our relationship and not hurt it."

"Vould you do somezing for 'er if you zought it vould come between za team?"

Scott had to think about that. "As X-Men we have many different priorities. Some, like Logan, would think that number one is fighting evil. The problem with that is, he doesn't have someone to love. For me, number one is making sure that everything in life is going good. I can't concentrate if I'm not one hundred percent in the fight against evil. Of course, as a leader, I have to be there. And I encourage my X-Men to be free from every problem in life."

"Zank you, Scott. I vould most like to be alone for some time."

Scott got up and left the room. He closed the door quietly, as he heard some sobs quietly from the room. He ran to find Jean. She was up in her room. He burst in.

"Good think that I felt your presence coming, or I might have been frightened," Jean said with a half smile.

"Jean," Scott tried to regain normal breathing. "Kurt breath loves someone breath but for some reason can't be with breath her. Breath Can you help him?" Scott breathed.

"I'll have to go talk to Professor X," she said, getting up and leaving. Scott followed on her heals.

They barged into Professor Xavier's office. He sat behind his desk calmly. "Jean, Scott, I believe you're here in search of answers of a certain Kurt Wagner?" He's hands were folded at his noses, elbows on the desk.

"Yes, Professor, I believe that Scott wanted me to look into his head on my own." She paused and gave Scott an 'I am always right about these things' look. "But I figured that I should come to you about this."

"Scott, I'm going to have to ask you to step out of my office. Sorry about this."

Scott looked befuddled as he skidded his feet across the floor, walking out of the office.

"Sorry for the invasion in the mind, but Scott is still outside of the office trying to listen in," Professor X said inside Jean's head, while maintaining his natural thinking pose.

Jean made one big nod. "I understand." She was irritated with Scott's teenage mind.

"I've investigated some strange activity that has been going on within the institute, lately. Have you noticed any two people hanging out that didn't before?" Professor X looked straight into her eyes.

She thought for a second. "Why yes! Kurt and Bobby have been—" she dropped the end of her sentence, concluding this. "You mean to tell me that Kurt and Bobby are," she gasped, "gay."

"Yes, and they very much love each another. The problem is that Bobby thinks it will cause problems to have a gay couple on the team. He would rather hide from everyone that he can."

"What are we to do, Professor?" Jean couldn't help, but to say it out loud.

Still inside of her head, "we need to put them on a mission together, with two others. The other two need to be people they trust fully."

Jean leaned against the chair. "I know that Bobby respects Rogue." Jean went back to talking though the mind. "Kurt looks up to Scott, but I don't think he would be comfortable letting Scott know. He was quite cryptic with Scott." Jean sat down to think. She knew that Professor X would know the answer better, but this was a test of how well she knew her peers. A stronger team and all that. She jumped up from the chair. "Ororo!" She yelled out.

The professor smiled at his young student. "Yes," He said out loud. "Get me Storm and Rogue."

Ten minutes after Jean left the office, Storm and Rogue came in. "Is something wrong?"

"Yes, and no," the professor stated.

Rogue gave looked at him, clueless.

"I have a task for four people. Rogue, I need you to get Iceman to go. Storm, I need you to get Nightcrawler."

"Professor, if I may intervene," Storm piped up. "The two boys seem to be odds with each other today."

Professor X nodded. "I know this. That's why it's imperative that the two boys go with you."

Rogue got up from her chair. She turned her back to him, looking up at his books. "So, what yer sayin is this mission isn't really a mission, but something to make Bobby and Kurt quit fightin?"

"Precisely, almost. This is a real mission. Toad is causing problems in a factory. Kurt will be needed to get into the factory. Bobby will need to freeze some of the chemicals. You two will help them with their teamwork." The professor ordered.

"Why are you so concerned in these two boys bickers?" Storm had to ask.

"This is the most important part. This will be the biggest part of the mission for the two of you. Bobby and Kurt have been secretly dating for over a month now. Iceman is worried that their relationship will make the team dynamic diminish. I'm counting on the two of you to make sure that the team doesn't diminish. Nightcrawler will never function normally again if his true love isn't with him. He's hardships are many. This is his breaking point."

"I didn' even know they're gay." Rouge finally looked at the professor in wonderment.

"We will comply," Storm said firmly.

Storm went right up to Kurt's room. She knocked gently on the door. With a puff of smoke, Kurt appeared outside of the door. "Ororo, it is most unexpected to see you, but I must tell you zat I'm not in much of a good mood at zee present time." Kurt looked at the woman he respected more than anyone else in the world and he wanted to tell her what was wrong.

"I'm sorry to hear that. Professor Xavier needs us for a mission. You are the only person that can take us into the building that Toad is holding hostage." She calmly waited for him to answer.

He muttered a few words to God. "You can count me in to 'elp."

She smiled at him. "Good." She put her hand on his furry cheek.

Rogue had to spend quite a bit of time looking for Bobby. He was nowhere to be found. Finally, she found him by the pool.

"Bobby!" She shouted. He looked at her and started to run. "Professor X needs us for a mission!"

He stopped. He turned back toward Her. "Really?"

"Yes!"

"What is it?" He became intrigued.

"Toad is at a factory. If the chemicals aren't cooled, they will explode."

"Lets go," he said excitedly.

Iceman's excitement got put on a pause as soon as he got to the X-Jet. He looked into those big golden eyes of Nightcrawler's. He almost died then and there. Iceman spun around to exit. Rogue caught him. "What do ya think yer doin?"

"I'm outta hear," Iceman said crossly.

"Bobby Drake, you are needed on this mission. You will be expelled if you don't go." Storm stepped in front of him. Her whole body showed how stern she was.

"Only under protest!"

The plane ride was very silent, at first. Nightcrawler looked very hurt. About three minutes of silence went by when Storm looked over at Rogue. "Why is it that ya'll aren't talkin?" Rogue looked back at the boys with a hard look on her face.

"Bobby?" Nightcrawler was still in the process of putting his sadness on hold for this mission. Cyclopes' words kept ringing though his head.

Bobby looked away from him. He was cold, even for an iceman.

"I can't handle zis. I 'ave to tell zem." Nightcrawler held back tears.

Iceman jumped out of his seat. "Sit!" Storm yelled. He obeyed.

"Please don't," Bobby lipped.

"Do you love me or not?" Kurt pushed the button, he was back to human form.

Bobby gasped for air. Rogue looked back at him, giving him an encouraging smile.

Bobby looked directly into Kurt's eyes. "Kurt, I love you with all my being." Bobby closed his eyes and bit his lower lip.

Kurt reached over and grabbed his hand.

"Glad everything is good, but it's time to go get Toad," Storm broke up the happiness.

Kurt pushed the button, making himself furry again. Everyone took hands with each other to be able to be transported in.

Luckily Rogue and Storm took care of Toad as Iceman and Nightcrawler saved the chemicals. Iceman cooled them as Nightcrawler transported them to the ice chamber.

The task was complete. Rogue drained Toad enough to make him pass out. Toad was an addition for Nightcrawler to teleport back to the X-Jet. Storm took him back to The Brotherhood.

Upon arriving back, Bobby and Kurt went right to Professor Xavier's office. He was sitting behind his desk waiting on them. He already knew what they wanted.

"Professor, we need to talk to all of the X-Men. We have a huge announcement to make." Bobby smiled at Kurt.

"Alright boys. If you're ready." The professor remained calm.

Though the minds of the main X-Men, Professor X said, "I need for all the X-Men to report to my office immediately."

Logan showed up right away. "Take a seat, Logan," Professor X said to make him realize they weren't going into battle.

In about ten minutes all of the X-Men were in the room. Chairs were brought into the room. Storm, Rogue, and Jean sat in the front to encourage them.

"Bobby and Kurt have an announcement to make. Give them your attention." The Professor scanned the room.

Kitty gave him a sore look. She was still mad at him.

"First of all, I would like to say, Kitty, this is the answer you've been looking for." Bobby smiled brightly at her. Her face went neutral.

"I vant to say zat the X-Men 'as become a family to me. I don't vant for our announcement to be a problem for you all. Bobby 'as expressed some concern about zat."

Bobby breathed deeply. He took a hold of Kurt's hand. "The two of us have fallen in love. We're gay."

Evan jumped up. "This is wacking!" He ran out of the room, throwing some spikes on the ground.

"I'll go for him," Ororo said, more to the professor than to the boys.

Kitty jumped up right after Ororo got up. She ran right though her. When she got up to the two boys, she couldn't do anything more than just hug them. Alison followed her lead.

Logan left the room. This kind of stuff wasn't interesting to him. All he wanted was to go have a battle.

Hank walked up to the two boys. "Very admiral," he said as he shook their hands.

After so long, Jean and Scott were they only two in the room with Kurt and Bobby. He sat in the same chair, arms crossed, and looking at the floor. "I just didn't know," he finally said.

"Scott, I really respect you. I was worried—" Bobby started.

"No, I should have known what Kurt was talking about. I wish I would have known. I would have told you that nothing would change between us." He looked up at them. "Unless you try to hit on me." He laughed.

Jean jabbed him in the ribs. "Scott!"

"Ouch."

Kurt leaned his head up against Bobby's chest. He nuzzled him, lightly. Bobby smiled as he put his arms around his boyfriend. With a puff of smoke, they were up in Kurt's room.

They laid down on the bed. They cuddled together. "Everything is better. I don't think I said this yet, but I'm sorry."

"You don't need to be sorry. I understand zat you vere scared. Zee team loves us. Well, I don't know about Evan, but I didn't expect everyone to be alright viz it."

"I love you, Kurt."

"I love you too, Bobby."

The two boys feel asleep in each other's arms.
