The sun was high in the sky by the time Ginny stumbled out of bed. She shuffled over to her window and pulled open the ruby red curtains. She hissed and flinched back as the sunlight flooded into the room and burned her eyes. She squinted into the light for just a second before she turned around and rubbed tiredly at her eyes.

Ginny looked over at her clock and frowned when she saw it was past noon. She hadn't meant to sleep in so late and she wondered vaguely if Luna had already left for the day. Since it was her day off Ginny wasn't too worried about the late start, but she still had plenty of errands to run. She left her room and after a quick pit-stop in the bathroom continued her journey towards the Kitchen.

The apartment was silent and no sign of Luna, so Ginny assumed, correctly, that Luna was gone for the day and would be back tonight after her shift.

Ginny pulled open the fridge and grabbed the half full jug of orange juice. She looked at the sink and saw that it was still full of dirty dishes and sighed. She looked around as if her mother would appear out of nowhere to scold her as she lifted the jug to her lips and took a long pull of the tangy citrus juice.

As her eyes roamed the room her gaze fell on the stack of envelopes that lay innocently on the table in the breakfast nook. She lowered the juice jug and smiled.

'I've got to remember to thank Luna for picking up the mail' she thought to herself. It had completely slipped her mind to grab the mail on her way home last night and she doubted she would have remembered today.

Ginny placed the plastic jug on the nearby counter and walked the few steps forward and grabbed the stack of multi-coloured envelopes off the table. She carelessly flipped through the mail as she walked towards the living room but stopped on a dime when she came across a thick ivory envelope with her name spelled out in elegant calligraphy.

Ms. Ginevra Weasley

Ginny took a deep breath and collapsed onto the nearby arm chair. She absently noted that the other envelopes had fallen to the ground, but she kept her focus on this singular one. Her vision dimmed, and her hand shook as she flipped the envelope over and ripped it open.

Her breath caught in her throat and tears immediately pooled in her eyes. She fought, ineffectually, to keep the tears at bay but as she read the first line she succumbed, and tears began to run down her cheeks.

Dear Ms. Ginevra Weasley,

You are cordially invited to celebrate the wedding of Mr. Harold James Potter and Ms. Fleur Appoline Delacour.

The enveloped fell to the ground and body wracking sobs overtook Ginny's body. She knew it was only a matter of time before this invitation reached her, but she foolishly thought she had more time.

It appeared luck was not on her side and her time had run out.
