There is was.
The forbidden fruit she never should have touched.
It was calling to her, whishing her closer.
She had to answer that call, no matter the cost.
And cost it would.
Sora stared at the big oak doors that were leading in to the old stable. Just days before this it had been cleaned and remodeled for the new resident. And she had a hard time understanding how it could even fit in there.
The big dragon she got the glimpse of from her room. Never had she seen something as big as him. He had to be 20 meters in height, and at least twice in length.
Sora threw some quick glances around, and then gathered her dress and made for the smaller side door. She just had to see him up front, or she would regret that she didn't later in her life, she just knew it.
After some low creaking from the door, she was granted permission to enter.
The big room had been totally remade into something she no longer could recognize from her childhood. The boxes that used to be there was now replaced by chains as big as her upper body. All the windows was covered up, making the room dark as ink. Sora didn't even know a room could be that dark. Following the chains with her eyes, they seemed to just vanish in to the dark abyss of the room.
Getting a better grep on her skirts, to not making them dirty and thus reveling where she had had been, she started to follow the chains to find the animal that they held down.
Suddenly there was a dark wall right in front of her nose. She could not see it, but her nose really felt it there. Yelping in surprise she backed up, then curiosity got the best of her and she stretched out a hand to touch whatever she had walked in to. Once more surprised Sora noticed that the wall was warm, and pulsating with an age old power. The rough texture reminded her of the snake she once caught when she was younger.
Getting used to the dark she could see the big scales that coverd what she now understood was the dragon.
"I might want to back up, right Sora?" She told herself as she gave the scaly skin a last stroke.
Lingering on the heat, not wanting to let go, Sora did not notice the bright white horn that was slowly rising from the ground.
It was not until the big silver eye was on her that she noticed.
Without a thought of what kind of animal he was or how big said animal was, she was stunned. The dragon himself was blinking down on her.
"You are beautiful. " was the first thing that flew out of her mouth.
