"Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiily," James whined. As he sauntered across the room a couple of Gryffindors turned their heads in curiosity. James Potter was always entertaining.
Lily sighed exasperatedly and set her book face down on her lap. "I'm busy James, what do you want?"
"I'm bored," James pouted. He flopped on the couch belly-down on the couch next to Lily. Lazily he ran his hand through his unkempt hair and extended his pout.
"What do you want me to do about it," Lily asked him.
"Entertain me," James ordered nonchalantly. Lily rolled her eyes and flipped her red hair behind her shoulder. James got bored much too easily and when he did he often reverted back to his old childish nature. Actually it reminded Lily immensely of the way Sirius acted.
"I can't, I'm reading," Lily replied simply. She opened the book and her eyes began scanning the words. Out of the corner of her eye she could spot James staring longingly at her. Lily wanted so badly to talk to him but knew she had to learn to say no to him.
She had no problem telling him no last year. It was amazing how so much could change in a year.
"What are you reading," James asked, staring at the book cover. It was dull colored and had large writing at the top. James was too lazy to crane his neck and actually read the words.
"A story," Lily answered him.
"What story," James questioned further.
"None of your business," Lily told him in a sharp tone; she knew what he wanted. She shut her book and leaned over.
Quickly Lily captured James's lips with her own and pulled away blushing. Everyone was staring and all Lily wanted to do was finish her book.
"Happy now," Lily asked quietly.
"Very much so," James said smiling, smirking, and gloating all at once.
