It had been several years since Tsunade had become the 5th hokage and all seemed well among the people of the leaf village. But one lonely demon-possessed child still had no one to call his own. Naruto had spent most of his days training, and after a while, he didn't really think that his life was going so well. "Man, I wish something could happen that would change my life." In fact, he was changing on the inside too. He was 18, and as an adult, he decided to spend more time with his friends. He found Sakura at a shop near his house. "Sakura-chan, uh, what's up?" he asked shyly. "Nothing much Naruto. Sasuke isn't spending nearly as much time in the village as he used to. Now that we're chuunin, he's been on a lot of missions. I've been lonesome." Naruto inadvertently smiled to himself, and took a wild chance. "Sakura-chan, would you like to get some ramen tonight?" Sakura looked surprised. "You know what, I would. Pick me up at 7:00, 'kay?"
"Score!" he thought to himself. "Okay, see you then!" Sakura ran off to get ready for their date. Naruto followed suit, and ran home. He showered, and put on his nicest clothes, white khaki jeans and a black polo shirt. He made a checklist. "Breathmints, check. Money, check." But the one thing he didn't pack may have been the most important thing…
