Lillian Arlington brushed blonde hair out of her face and looked lovingly at the man before her.
"Wow. Lillian, you surely have grown into a beautiful young flower." Joshua said.
"Thank you." Lillian smiled.
"So, younger sister. I have gotten all the information that may be needed."
"Such as?"
"When the lord Nathaniel Whittaker wears a blue diamond ring he shall need a nightly companion."
"And what does that have to do with me?" Lillian asked afraid of the answer.
"Well, dearest we both know where we stand in court and as your elder brother I must advise you to take heed to Lord Whittaker's…needs."
"And wait freely to join his bed side?"
"Well, yes."
"How dare you? Joshua you are simply setting me up for disaster and if Mistress Whittaker were to find out my prospects would forever be ruin!" Lillian yelled.
"Yes, Lillian they would. But should you please him you would not need to join the court. You would be taken care of."
"And
is this how you treat your wife? Whoring on her?"
"You know I
would never seek comfort in a mistress and I would not speak so lowly
of those women for soon, Lillian, you will be joining their ranks."
Lillian's hand hit Joshua's face… hard.
"Don not speak to me in such a way! You may be my elder brother but you shall not treat me like one of the whores that I know you allow in your bedchamber while all the while your dear wife, Catherine lays sick with your child!"
"You know nothing of Catherine."
"And you know nothing of me if you expect me to climb so freely into a married mans bedchamber."
"Lillian-"
"Do you not understand? If I were to birth I would be publicly a whore and my child a bastard? Think of how the court would react! You'd be thrown out for being related to such a person!"
"Relax, Lillian. I have this thought out… All you have to do is agree."
"I- I."
"Think about it sister dearest and I shall go see my dearest wife."
"Of course."
Lillian felt kind of sick as she watched her brother exit the room. Surely he had thought of all the possible out comes.
He was, after all, very high in court. He wouldn't put that on the line without some kind of back up. Lillian knew that. She'd learned it with the countless nights they'd stayed up together as children. He would always talk about joining court and marrying a beautiful woman. He'd told her he would provide for her and be an amazing person and he'd grown up and done jus that… If Joshua thought it was right… it couldn't be that wrong.
Lillian sat at her nightstand and looked out at the rain. As much as she acted like the thought was hers, she knew… she would always cave in for Joshua.
She took a deep breath and thought about it. There was no such a powerful man as Lord Whittaker would take her twice. He was an experienced love maker and all she was, was a virgin. A 15 year old virgin.
