They watch the news in awe. The Supreme Court has legalized gay marriage across the entire United States. Stef feels her eyes becoming misty as she feels her hand being squeezed. She looks deep into her partners dark brown eyes as they too are misty.

"Finally... It's legal"

"Yes." Stef breathes out as she allows the tears to flow freely from her eyes. She breathes in the scent of the other woman as she pulls her closer. They both turn their attention back to their five beautiful children still engrossed in the news as the last part of President Obama's speech still rings in their ears...

"...folks who were willing to endure bullying and taunts and stayed strong and came to believe in themselves and who they were. And slowly made an entire country realize that love is love. What an extra ordinary achievements, what a vindication of the belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. What are under of what Bob Kennedy once said about how small actions can be like pebbles thrown in still lake. And ripples of hope cascade outwards. And change the world. Those countless, often anonymous, heroes deserve our thanks. They should be very proud. America should be very proud..."

The room stood still as they realized that their long fight for equality was finally over, and that it didn't matter what people thought, because they were happy.

"Love is love," Callie murmured as she grasped Jude's hand tightly as the boy still had tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Love wins," Mariana whispered as she leaned onto Callie's shoulder. Callie wrapped an arm around the younger girl as she held them both. She turned back towards the woman who were silently watching this scene unfold in front of them.

"Love conquers all," Lena said as she wiped her face off with her sleeve of her sweater.

"and with that being said," Stef said as she reached into her bag and pulled out as stack of paper work and turned to one specific page that she knew would get a reaction out of the young girl. She handed it to Callie as she searched for the thing the blonde wanted her to desperately find. Callie's vision began to blur as tears filled her field of vision.

"Callie Quinn Adams-Foster. Adoption effective on June 26th, 2015." She said as she let go of her siblings and ran to hug her moms.

"We love you, CallieQ, papers or not, you will forever be ours." Lena said with finality in her voice, holding the girl tight.

"I love you too mama," she whispered into Lena's wild curls. Lena had a new batch of tears that began to flow as she heard the last syllable come out of Callie's mouth. Callie let go and switched over to Stef who still had tears rolling down her face.

"And I love you... Mom." Callie said as she held onto Stef for dear life. Stef kissed the brunette's head, knowing how much it meant for Callie to call her mom.

"I love you, too my sweet girl." She said as she held on a little tighter.

"I guess today is a day to remember; same sex marriage being legalized and Callie's adoption being finalized, life's good." Jesus said breaking the silence in the room and soft chuckles erupted from his siblings. Jesus was right, today is a day to remember...
