Hi, this is just a quick story I whipped up overnight... Don't panic I'm still working on the next chapter of A Wedding To Remember. I love all of you who commented and reviewed and stuff. Tell me if you like this short story, (that means review when you're done).
Enjoy!
I was walking around the play yard, ha-haing at people's misfortune and shaking nerds down for their money when I saw Kearney, Jimbo, and Dolph crowd around some poor sucker who was about to get beat up. "Give us that, you geek!" Rambled Dolph, grabbing what looks like something valuable from the nerd.
"Hay this is not a game, give me my saxophone back! This is highly unorthodox!" Yelled the nerd, in a familiar tone of voice.
I stop in my tracks, "Lisa?" I thought out loud. How dare they hurt Lisa. My Lisa. They know I have a crush on her, why would they do this? Without any hesitation I rushed over there and grabbed the sax from Dolph's hand.
He looked behind him in shock, he realized that it was just me and said, "Yah Nelson! Let's play keep-away!"
I saw Lisa there on the floor with tears in her eyes, like one of them had just pushed her. "Please Nelson don't," she begged rubbing her eyes.
I offered her a hand and she reluctantly took it, like it was some sort of trick that I was playing on her. "Don't worry, Lees. I won't," I handed her back her saxophone. She took it and held it close to her chest. Since she was only eight the sax was more than half her size, she had to angle it better so it wouldn't cover her face.
"Why did you give it back to her, Nelson?! I thought we we're gonna play keep-away!" Questioned Jimbo in a confused tone of voice.
"Why would you pick on her guys? She wouldn't hurt a fly! Especially because she's a Buddhist and all," I said defensively.
" Wouldn't hurt a fly? She smacked my nards with that thing," Kearney puffed covering his privets and pointing at the sax with his free hand.
"Really?" I looked at Kearney then at Lisa, "Is that true, Lees?"
"Yes, but it was an accident, and I said I was sorry," She squeaked.
I looked back at the gang, "See this is all just a big misunderstanding," I said trying to talk some since into them.
"What do you care so much? She's just a little smarty-pants-goody-two-shoe's like the rest of em'" Snorted Dolph.
"You know why I care, now beet it!" I yelled at them angrily, oh crap! What did I just say?
Their eyes widened, in realization that the little girl they we're picking on was Nelson's crush. "Sorry, Nelson! We meant no disrespect!" Jimbo squealed and they all ran away.
I sighed and then turned back to Lisa, "Are you alright, Lees?"
She looked at my with an expression that I couldn't quite place, "Yes, thank you, Nelson. That was really… Kind of you," she said twiddling with her spiky blond hair shyly.
"Don't mention it, Lees… Well, smell you later," I waved.
"Smell you later… Nelson," She waved back and looked down on her saxophone to assess the damage done to it.
I was about twelve feet way when I instinctively looked back, I saw that she was looking at me too and we both quickly turned away, blushing.
Oh Lees, if only you were mine. I wouldn't have to smell you later… I would just hold you closer.
