"Hold on!" Captain Jack Sparrow pulled Elizabeth Turner against him, drawing his pistol.

She wrapped her arms around him tightly, unsure of what he was doing. He fired the pistol and immediately an attached, ripped sail lifted them into the air as a parachute.

Confused, she could only watch the Dutchman as it finally finished spinning around the maelstrom by falling into it sideways. Her eyes moist, she buried her face into Jack's chest. Oh Will…

The pirate she clung to didn't say any smart remarks, didn't try anything, didn't even smirk. She had to be thankful of how serious he was taking the situation. Thinking about it, she realized that he'd saved her life. The man just somberly saw to the both of them reaching the water safely. Upon reaching it and releasing the parachute, he'd gently turned her towards the Pearl and helped her get over there. Tears had spilled down her cheeks and she knew he saw them.

"I'm sorry, Elizabeth," He murmured softly just before they began to climb up onto the Pearl.
