'Critical Overload'! 'Critical Overload'!
Alarms were sounding. The lab was thick with smoke and the smell of melting plastic mixed with computer circuitry.
"Come on we have to move! We're out of time"! Yelled a mountain of a man in a Deputies uniform.
The smoke was so thick you couldn't see anything. The overhead lights were flickering on and off bathing the lab in a strobe type effect. The momentary illumination was just enough to disorientate the occupants as they scrambled blindly towards laboratories exit stricken with panic.
The outer door was just within reach to the five oxygen starved personnel.
A host of Global medical staff were waiting for the accident victims' emergence from the smoky lab ready to treat a multitude of conditions.
"Wait, where is Anderson"? A female scientist cried out as she blindly followed the grasp of a medical personnel's hand to a clear spot in the hall unable to see because of the sought that caked her glasses.
"I thought he was behind you"? Replied the town Sheriff as he took gasps of fresh air into his lungs and helped another scientist to a med staff member.
"He must still be inside"! Replied the smallest member of the law enforcement team. A female deputy to round out the guys, but one to be reckoned with when push came to shove.
"I'm on it"! Shouted the male deputy putting down his charge onto an awaiting stretcher to be wheeled to the infirmary and darting back into the smoke filled fiery laboratory.
"No Petie, wait"! Both Carter and Jo yelled out but it was too late, Deputy Peter Howard had charged right back into the danger zone.
