This is really short, but I've always loved this pairing. I wanted to express the passion they must have felt during their previous life time together, but also the bittersweet they both must be enduring now that their love had become the ultimate long-distance relationship. I hope I portrayed it accurately. I also managed to poke in a bit of Yuuram, please forgive me

Murata smiled at the priestesses, holding the door open for longer than was necessary, making it clear he wished them all to leave the room. Only Ulrich remained, and she walked slowly to the door, with the kindly smile of one who has lived a long life, almost similar to that of Murata himself, who had seen so many lives.

"His Majesty, Shinou, has been anticipating your arrival." Ulrich smiled warmly at him "he does so love it when he can have you near."

Murata nodded, implying that he knew this to be very true.

Once the child-like priestess had exited, the Great Sage walked to the altar and sat down on the steps, in a motion not unlike he was entering a friend's room and sitting down on their bed. Murata ran a hand through his dark hair, which, he noted, with some amusement, had been pitch black in almost every life he knew of. He felt a great warmth of happiness, not his own, flow through him, and knew that Shinou, he dearest friend, was hugging him.

"You're going to have to move on soon." He whispered aloud, though it could have simply thought the words, and he continued to do so, the one-sided conversation muttered into the empty hall.

"I know, I'll miss you too, but…Shinou…Love…" the affectionate title was spoken with whispered reverence, "So many lives I've lived without you, not even the chance meeting here and there, the way Yuuri and Wolfram have managed it."

"I know your plan, it is a good one…however it pains me to see you go, I know that…our next meeting, we will be one again."

"You know, I've wondered that too, why none of the history books mention our romance…not that it was much of one" he wore his ironic smile.

"I did not mean it that way, Shinou." He chuckled "I remember those days with you, almost as well as the nights"

"warriors over lovers, how sad that love is so easily forgotten…but not by me."

"Yes, I've worried about that, but you are quite powerful in your own right. Perhaps you might manage to remember this life, but…even if you don't; I'll still stand by your side, same as Yuuri"

"No, Yuuri is more like my son…heh, daughter, actually, if I remember correctly."

"I can't stay much longer. I'll miss you…when you're gone. Please wait for me, I must stay with Yuuri, help him. With any luck at all, we will be in each other's arms again…my love."

Murata stood, brushing imaginary dirt from his trousers, and walking slowly from the hall. Just before he reached the door he felt a great wave of pleasure overtake his body and had to fight back not to cry out. He leaned against the door, panting slightly, but did not turn around.

"One life time to go, Shinou, and then we have eternity" he whispered more to the thick doors that to the altar behind him. He took a few deep breaths, biting back the ridiculous tears forming behind his glasses. "I'll see you next when the curtain rises" Murata took one last breath, and exited the temple. His final performance was at hand.
