I know the last thing I oughta be doing is another story, as making up for lost time on my main project Legends vs Flynn and Rittenhouse is my sole priority, but after watching Supergirl 4x10 and experiencing two main emotions- huge heartbreak over what Alex and the six DEO agents decided to do in order to protect Kara, and sheer anger and wanting to give that bitch, who is so turning into our old Arrow friend Amanda Waller, Colonel Hayley the biggest hardest punch ever-, and because I also loved Elseworlds and every scene in the Arrow episode with our brand addition to the Arrowverse, Kate Kane/Batwoman, I just haven't been able to get this out of my head since, so I'm gonna write it. This follows on right from the end of 4x10.

Warning: after this starter, the story will be rated M from then on cos I now totally ship Karate/Kara and Kate, and I couldn't resist the temptation of wanting to do so badly some very intimate scenes between the two of them. In a way, I have a one-shot on AO3 to thank for that, haha. If it's not the kind of thing for you guys, I respectfully ask for no lengthy lecture, and feel free to review if you wish. Don't though otherwise. Any Guest reviews I equally find additonally rude will be removed. Hope you enjoy it.

I do not own Supergirl or any of the characters within it

Alex sighed and leaned over to rest her hand on Kara's arm. "Everything's gonna be OK," she tried to assure, attempting a half smile.

Kara looked into her sister's eyes for a few more seconds, then, with the tears welling up in her eyes, she shook her head and turned away, pushed open the door and hurried out of the building.

Once outside, she just walked, strolled, marched at a fast pace down the footpath, hands coming up over her mouth, eyes screwing up tight as the emotion finally broke loose and she burst into quiet sobs.

How could she have allowed this to happen? To face the unbelievable fact that Alex, her own sister, who had been by her side and helped her through everything that had happened ever since she had first revealed herself as Supergirl to the world, was now having to have all that, the very fact that she was one of those who knew fully well who Kara was, erased from her mind by J'onn because of Hayley's madness and determination at intending on finding out who she really was? It was just totally beyond beggar's belief, surely it couldn't be happening, not to her, not to Kara Danvers. But it was.

Kara's right hand travelled down to her jeans and went into the front pocket, where, out of some random thought, she had her interdimensional extrapolator stored. Her fingers found the little gadget and she brought it out. She stopped walking and just stayed where she was, looking down at the extrapolator, thinking, fingers fiddling with it.

And that was when, she knew, she had to escape here, get as far away from National City, her own Earth in fact, for a while. To Earth 1. But where exactly on Earth 1? Central City and Barry? Star City and Oliver? Kara shook her head- no, as much as she always enjoyed the company of her two big friends and their team buddies, and was sure they could both find time to offer her what she so desperately needed right now, she decided that they were probably very busy dealing with their own problems in their seperate cities.

Then she remembered the other place on Earth 1 she, and indeed Barry and Oliver as well, had visited when they were up against that mad psychiatrist guy Deegan, and had been helped by its new defender, the one who had filled in Batman's place ever since his 'disappearance'.

Through her tears, Kara managed a very small smile and nodded to herself. Yes, Kate was the one she needed to see. Another woman, a suitable woman at that, and from Earth 1, was whom she needed to be with right now, and remembering also their brief chat outside the gates of Arhkam Asylum, Kate was definitely the right choice.

Quickly glancing up and down the street, and relieved that no one else was coming either way, Kara held up the extrapolator and pressed the button. A breach opened in front of her, and not wasting a moment more she walked straight through, the breaching closing as soon as she had done so.

Earth 1, Gotham City, Wayne Enterprises

(To avoid confusion with the upcoming time differences, remember the World's Finest crossover, when Barry was on Kara's Earth for half a day but only a second or two had passed on Earth 1)

After changing out of her suit and wig and ascending up from the Batcave, Kate plonked her down with relief on her brown leather sofa, settling back against the material. Another night of dealing with yet more of the criminal scum which infected the city her cousin Bruce had once watched over as Batman, and now what she did as Batwoman, certainly put a lot of hard work on the body- at least, thankfully, and in some way thanks to the annoying but admittingly helpful Green Arrow Oliver Queen and his pal Barry Allen, the Flash as Kate knew very well he was, none of the biggies contained in the double max cells at Arkham hadn't had another opportunity to make up that list.

Deciding a bit more was needed to help her kickstart the relaxing stage of the rest of her night, Kate walked over to the table and filled a glass with some red wine, bringing it up and breathing in the wine's rich scent deeply through her nose before bringing it to her lips and taking a sip.

What she totally wasn't prepared for was, with a hissing sound, and as Kate whippd round instinctively to witness the event, a strange circular phenomenon, its multi blue coloured surface like that of rippling water, to suddenly appear in her room. Nor was she prepared for what happened next- a woman with long blonde hair in glasses, blue jeans and shirt, a white tshirt and heels to appear out of it, the whatever it was disappearing the instant she did so.

Kate's mouth dropped open and she slowly placed the wine glass back on the table, recognizing the woman instantly- how could she not? "Kara?!" she gasped. The blonde nodded at once, removing her glasses, knowing she had landed in the right place and was safe.

Now, as Kara slowly approached her, Kate could make out, to her shock, the wetness on her cheeks, the result of tears, of heavy crying. "My god, Kara," Kate said, coming forward herself. When the two of them met a few steps later, Kate reached out and layed her hands on Kara's arms. "What's happened?" Kate asked quietly.

Kara just shook her head, the tears returning to her eyes blurring her vision, her whole body shaking. In seconds she had fallen into Kate's arms, bawling uncontrollably, her mouth hanging open, head resting against the other woman's shoulder. Kate gently guided them both back to the sofa and sat back down on it, her own arms still wrapped comfortingly around Kara, hands occasionally rubbing the other woman's back as she waited patiently for when and what she knew she would have to do.

Gradually, after a few minutes, during which time Kate kept respectfully silent, just keeping her arms around Kara, rocking them both gently from side to side, Kara calmed, returning to somewhat normal. She let out a sniff as Kate slowly unwrapped her arms, allowing Kara to slowly straighten up.

Kate reached up to brush a fresh tear away from Kara's eye, it and the other reddened from crying, with her left hand before moving her right to Kara's arm again, squeezing it gently and reassuringly. "You trust me, Kara?" Kate asked softly, her soft green eyes looking right into the Kryptonian's. Kara nodded at once. "If you didn't, you wouldn't have come here otherwise, right?" Another nod. "Then tell me. What's happened? Why have you come to me?" Kate asked the inevitable question in a gentle non-pressing voice, her left hand now coming to rest on Kara's knee and rubbing it.

And with that, knowing that she had indeed picked the right choice of person to come to in her hour of need, Kara told Kate everything. When she had finished, Kate shook her head, feeling her own emotion begin to rise up inside her, unable to believe what her new friend had just been through just in order to desperately keep her secret identity a secret from the tough as nails unrelenting in her intentions army bitch who was now effectively in charge of where Kara worked as Supergirl, and torturing her mentally as a result of her sick actions.

"I could've gone to Barry, or Oliver, as I have known them for much longer, well, Barry a bit more in a sense," Kara added in conclusion, even managing to add a slight chuckle, "But I felt, perhaps knew even, that I couldn't. I needed some female company, another woman's company."

Kate nodded, knowing what Kara meant without needing to be told the full thing. "And you chose right," she said softly, "You did the right thing in coming to me." Her left hand now moved to Kara's cheek, "However long you wanna stay here, Kara, you take as long as you need, OK? I'll always be on hand for you, whatever you want or need, I'll help with or give to you."

Kara nodded, now managing a grin as she wiped her eyes. "There's only one thing I want tonight, Kate," she said.

Kate raised an eyebrow. "And what's that?" she asked, studying Kara closely and seeing the beginnings of hunger in her eyes.

Kara shuffled closer to Kate. "Remember the last time we spent together, that half minute or more outside the gates of Arkham?" she went on, her grin growing slightly.

Now both of Kate's eyebrows rose and her mouth dropped open in a laugh. "Of course," she answered, her own mischief showing in her words, "When your x-ray vision allowed you to see my tattoos?"

Kara nodded and chuckled, "Exactly."

Kate's green eyes widened as now she realized exactly where Kara was getting. "You wanna see them, don't you?" she said flirtatiously, showing it with her own sly grin as well as her eyes.

Kara nodded, shuffling up closer, almost right up, to Kate. "After everything I've just been through- Hayley, and my own sister having to have her knowledge of me as Supergirl erased from her head because of her..." Kara now layed her own hand on Kate's arm, "I wanna be yours. Please, Kate. Whatever it is you're very good at doing, as yourself, just give it to me. That's all I want this night. You."

Kate's grin grew. "Are you sure?" she asked slyly, already knowing the answer but unable to resist a tease all the same.

Kara nodded. "Hundred percent," she replied.

"Then prepare to be amazed," Kate said. The two of them leaned forwards towards each other.

Hope you enjoyed this first chapter. Thankfully it didn't take me long to do, as I said the idea's been in my head ever since the episode's end, haha. The next chapter, which is when the real enjoyment between Kara and Kate will begin, should be up soon, but like I pointed out at the start my other project on here is what I'm now trying to focus on after attempting for almost a year to get a new chapter for that perfected and put up. Hopefully though next chapter for this won't be forever in coming.

Until then, adios
