Looking at the service record and project report lying before him on his desk, General Hammond had to admit the accounts
detailed within both were quite impressive, speaking to the character and capability of the soldier standing before his
desk. To maintain military demeanor and discipline under such fantastical circumstances was no small feat and yet he'd
managed it quite skillfully.
"Well," Closing the file, the General sat back in his chair and met the gaze of the newest addition to the SGC's ranks.
"May I say, Mr. Finn, that while I find the reports of the Initiative's activities to be somewhat dubious, I can't say
they aren't impressive."
Riley stood stiffly before the desk, staring forward, his military posture picture perfect. "Thank you, Sir."
"Your service record is quite a testament to your command capabilities and you preformed well above average in the
training exercises we put you through - it's my judgement you'll make a fine addition to the SGC." The General rose
and held out a hand. "Welcome aboard, son."
The younger man allowed himself a smile and shook the offered hand firmly. "Thank you, General Hammond, sir - I hope I
live up to your praise."
"I have no doubt that you will." Hammond assured then chuckled. "After demons, vampires, and a Hellmouth, a few aliens
should seem almost mundane."
Despite himself, Riley laughed. "Somehow, Sir, I really, really, doubt that." He paused before adding, "But I look
forward to finding out."
