Edward POV

I glanced around the room waiting for the signal.

It was stupid but I couldn't help myself. How did we come up with a frog holding a broom to be our secret signal?

It didn't make sense. But it was what Emmett wanted.

I was sitting in the living room with Bella watching the news. I had to admit with a vampire who could tell what could happen in the world at any given moment why we still watched the news was a mystery to me.

I was sifting through the minds of my family. Alice and Rose were planning a surprise shopping trip with Bella. Carlisle was deeply in thought with the new medical volume he was reading. Esme was planning on renovating another house. Jasper was thinking about the new video game he and Emmett had got to see who had to endure the shopping trip with Rose, Alice, and Bella as planned one of them had to go and he was freaking out because it was next week it was hard not to laugh but I resisted.

Emmett was thinking about a frog holding a broom. The signal it was time to go.

"Bella love it's time" I whispered

"No Emmett can wait you don't even look that thirsty yet." She complained again ever since I had told her about the hunting trip I planned with Emmett she had been making excuses for me not to go.

"I'm not but Emmett is and it's easier when we're not that thirsty." This she knew but still I often had to repeat it.

"Fine. But when will you be back?" Ahh I knew she would ask this and what she was doing while I was gone. Hopefully Emmett was into being patient.

"Not long enough for you to miss me and –"

"That's impossible I always miss you" Bella said with absolute sureness that she would miss me. With what Rose and Alice had planned she was going to beg for me.

"Maybe you will a little" I had to stop and take a deep breathe because of how untrue this was. "But Alice and Rose have the best shopping adventure of your life planned! You won't have time to miss me" she glared at me knowing how much she hated shopping, especially with Alice.

She started to protest but I put my finger on her lips.

"I really have to go Emmett's getting impatient" almost to prove the point Emmett honked the horn on the jeep.

I knew she would want to know why I we were taking the jeep instead of running but the truth was I didn't have time to explain or the want.

I gave her a quick kiss on the lips to silence the words she was about to say then I kissed her forehead and took off through the door to the garage and hopped into the jeep.

"Hey man you know your suppose to answer the questions before we have to go. That way when I give the signal you give Bella a kiss and come climb get into the jeep. We leave. It's that easy but you have to manage a way to make it take fifteen minutes." He said this all like he was talking to a preschooler. It made me sick.

"The faster we get out here the less likely I am to kick your ass." After I even began to really get into my threat he stepped on the gas and almost broke a tree in half.

"Where to this trip?" I knew the answer before he even spoke that was why he had already gone hunting.

I starred into his butterscotch eyes. And he whispered "West Edmonton Mall!" We had checked with Alice on the weather in Edmonton already nice and cloudy, maybe even some rain.

This was going to be a hell of a weekend.

Emmett leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.
