CSI - The hour of the wolf
Chapter one - Interludes and examinations
The rain fell like vertical bullets slamming against the pavement. A middle aged man sprawled over the driver seat of an open Audi TT. Brass starred at the open car in amazement; "I always wanted one of these" brass mumbled to himself. "What have we got?" Brass yelled over the rain still staring at the car.
"Caucasian male, took one gun shot wound to the head, then the other to the groin" Grissom pointed out, a dry white glove covered his hand. Grissoms hands brushed against the back of the driver seat, his hands wiped out a gun.
"P228, 9mm" Brass scanned as he opened a clear plastic bag, Grissom placed the weapon into the bag. A flash came from the back seat; Catherine placed a camera onto her belt buckle.
"Guys, I got something here," Catherine yelled from the back of the car. Catherine smeared a cotton bud across the seat, a clear sticky liquid attached to the bud, Catherine then placed the cotton bud into a container.
"Take this to the lab" She ordered as she passed it to Brass.
Elsewhere in a now busy basketball court, a flash of a camera captures the painful expression on the face of another victim. Policemen question the witnesses, three young African American youths. More rain fell to the ground; the crime scene was washing away like a clear canvas. Sarah Sidle flew around the crime scene her brown hair rested on her shoulders; another flash came from the camera.
Nick Stokes pulled a pistol from the corpse's right hand. "M93R, a classy gun for a cop don't you think?" Nick rotated his head to face Sarah, a slight glance is all that Sarah gave him.
"Bag it" Warrick moaned as he placed a clear plastic bag to the side of Nick. "The victims name is Peter Kaufmann" Sarah informed as she pulled the camera away from her eyes.
"Well who ever it was that shot the Mr Kaufmann here certainly had guts, point blank" Warrick pointed out with his finger, a gaping hole in the head of the corpse "and while he was facing him, to get that close were talking professional" Nick added.
"Or a fluke" Sarah shrugged. Both Warrick and Nick stared at her.
"What?" She replied.
Nick raised from his rested position and walked over to the policemen questioning the suspects. "Has anyone questioned Peter Kaufmanns partner yet?" nick questioned.
"No, he's over there" The policemen pointed over to the park entrance
"Thanks" Nick waved. Nick waltzed over to the police car parked outside the park. "Are you Peter Kaufmanns partner?" Nick interrogated the suspect.
"Yes, the names Thomas Sheridan" Sheridan stated.
"Where were you when you partner was killed?" Nick followed on the interrogation.
"Well Peter heard something off in the park, not to sure what, next I know he was out of the car and was in the park, then I heard a gun shot, I got on the radio and called for backup" Sheridan answered, he glanced at nick, waiting for another question. Nicks eyes were now focused on the pistol Sheridan was carrying.
"May I have a look at that?" Nick pointed to the gun on Sheridan's holster.
"Sure" Sheridan pulled out his sidearm and handed it to Nick.
"M92F, a standard sidearm" Nick slid the clip off for a closer inspection, two bullets were missing from the clip. "Where are the two bullets that are missing?" Nick frowned.
"Dunno" Sheridan shrugged.
Nicks face turned into an array of worry. "Would you mind coming down to the station and answering some questions?"
