When Killers Are Alone
It was night; about 1:30am according to the digital clock glowing red in the darkness of Beyond Birthday's bedroom. Sudenly a cry broke the eerie silence, and Beyond woke up with a start at the offensive noise.
"Daddy! Daddy, help me!" A frightened voice yelled.
"I'm comming love," Beyond said turning on the light in his room; wincing at the sudden brightness. The dark-haired man made his way to his crying child's room.
The small night-light in the corner showed a tear-stained face, and frightened eyes. "What's wrong E? Did you have a nightmare love?" Beyond said, sitting down on the edge of his daughter's bed. E said nothing and instead climbed into her father's lap. "Yes," she said finally. "I had a dream that Daddy L left and never came home..." she said shaking slightly in Beyond's arms. His face turned sad, as he learned of E's dream. Lawliet was always working late and wasn't home very often, so it was no wonder she worried about him never comming back. "Shhh, baby girl, it's ok. L is coming home in the morning. You will see him very soon, and it was just a dream. E nodded, wiping tears out of her eyes. "Can I sleep in your bed tonight Daddy?" She asked.
"Of couse, and when you wake in the morning, L will be here." Beyond responded picking up E and cradling her in his arms as he walked to his and L's room.
"I miss Daddy L," E murmured as the covers were pulled over her tiny body. "I know love, me too.." Beyond said sadly, climbing into the bed.
The next morning, the downstairs door opened and closed with a groan. A dark haired man, walked in. His body was slumped foreward and there were pronounced shadows under his eyes as if he hadn't slept in a long time. He looked nearly identical to Beyond Birthday exept for his eyes. This man's eyes were black, while Beyond's were a crimson color.
Hearing the door open, E practically leaped out of bed and ran downstairs. "Daddy!" She cried smiling from ear to ear. "Yes, daddy is home." L said, lovingly picking up his child. "I had a nightmare about you, that you never ever came home! I had to sleep with Daddy B last night because I was crying!" E said excited, too happy to see her father to be upset. Lawliet was taken aback by the news of his daughter's nightmare. "I...I'm so sorry honey. I'm here now, and I am not required to go back to work for another week. My coligues are doing some work on their own," he said bouncing E on his hip.
A/N: Sorry for the crappy ending to this chapter, it's my first continuous story. If your confused about E's fathers I'm sorry for that too. BB and L are her fathers, don't ask me how they had a child together, use your imagination XD. I will add the next chapter once I get some feedback on this one, otherwise I will work on rewriting this because I don't like it very much. So let me know what you think please!
