Max POV:
So, Nick and I have been friends since we were little. One day, his mom put him next to me in the sandbox and we talked. We have been best friends since then. I am older than Nick by four months but, we are still in the same grade. The flock and I have been good friends since we were little. After Nick and I became friends the rest of the guys met us. Really long story tell you later.
We are both in the middle of eighth grade at the moment. Yeah, last year of middle school! Jeff is in the seventh grade with Tiffany-Krystal. Captain Terror is in the fourth grade and Ariel is in the first grade. We call ourselves the flock because we always had a fascination with birds.
So anyway back to the present. My leg was itching for move after sitting at the desk for about two hours after taking a practice SAT. I kept staring at the clock, pleading it would already go off. I hated wearing the short black skirts they made us wear along with the stupid white blouse. This school was real strict about dress code.
Five… four… three… two… one… The bell finally went off. Everybody scrambled out of the classroom. Nick met me outside of the classroom door in the hall.
"So, how'd it go?" said Nick with his usual blank face.
"It was okay," I replied. Even though it had been a little troubling.
"Good, so what are we gonna do after school?"
"Just hang out at the park with the flock I guess."
He nodded. Nick didn't really talk much, which made people think he was stuck up or something. The girls at school all loved him though. Surprisingly he doesn't have a big head because he doesn't really know. The girls trying to flirt with him makes me jealous and want to rip their faces off sometimes.
Wait? Did I just say what I think I did? I mean we're best friends of course I feel the need to be protective. Wait, what? Okay, I'm really confused.
"Max, what are you doing?" said Nick.
The hallway only had a few people left in it. Apparently I had just been staring out in to space for the last few minutes.
"Huh?" I responded, "Oh nothing. Lets go to lunch."
We went into the cafeteria and got whatever Tuesday's surprise is. I don't even know what it is but then again I don't think I want to know. Nick and I sat down over in the corner as usual. Tiffany-Krystal and Jeff were already there.
"Hey guys," I said.
"Hey," said Tiffany turning to look at us. She had skipped a grade to be in the same with Jeff. Jeff was blind from some weird accident when we were like seven.
