Potter's on the brain, so I wrote something to get him out of there.
I need to write for Those That Gods Walk With and The Fox and The Hound eventually you know.

If you asked anyone, they would say that Severus Snape hated Harry Potter. Why, exactly? No one could pin it down to one thing. They claimed it was because of the boy's father, they claimed it was because he secretly lusted for the boy's body, but they were all wrong.

If you asked Severus Snape why he hated Harry Potter, he would claim he could not pin it down to one thing. He hated the boy's loud nature, his stubborn attitude, his back talk, the way he insulted Slytherins.

However, Severus could pin it down to one reason why he hated Harry James Potter.

The boy reminded him far, far too much of Lily Evans. So much so, that it drove Severus insane. He loathed how anytime people saw the Potter boy, they would claim that he was the picture of James, but with his mother's eyes. Potter inherited all of Lily's stupid quirks, silly superstitions, through a sickening twist of fate. It enraged Severus, knowing that when he took points off the boy, Potter would look down at his feet, defeat in his eyes. Just like Lily had done when she lost points for her mistakes. It aggravated him how Potter bit the end of his quill while deep in thought, just as Lily had. It annoyed him how the boy fiddled with his wand when he lied, using the exact same motion Lily had.

Severus Snape hated Harry Potter for acting so much like his lost love. He was stubborn, a martyr to his beliefs. Severus had always badgered Lily to see things from the view of others, and Lily had always refused. Why would she, a muggleborn, try to see things the way a pureblood did? A pureblood who wanted all muggleborns dead? Severus loathed the way Potter fiddled with his bangs during tests, biting his lip in concentration, just as Lily had once done. It infuriated him in a way no normal man could understand, seeing the body of his hated nemesis with all the traits of the woman who broke his heart. Lily had never gotten the hang of having more than a small group of friends, and it appeared that Potter could not comprehend that hundreds of people in the castle wished to be his friends.

It annoyed Severus to no end that out of all the people in this world, out of all the bloody first years, Potter was the only one who seemed to dislike fame, dislike people who tried to use fame as a tool. It was the same reason Lily had kept away from that arrogant prat his father was. Both Lily and Potter could not seem to function around their respective crushes, once they had realized them. They stammered, blushed faintly, and had trouble maintaining eye contact. It was infuriating, seeing Lily in that evil bastard's body. The man who had tormented him for years, was walking the halls once more, but with the spirit of a timid, yet fiery girl. Severus Snape could not stand Harry Potter, with his impossible Potter hair. It reminded him far too much of that sadist Lily had married. Severus could not bear to see Potter, scrunching up his nose when he ate something bitter, the same way Lily had always done.

And when Potter laughed, it was the worst. It was not the mocking laughter of his father, it was the ringing sounds of his mother's laughter. Severus could not stand to see Potter laugh, and so he did his best to make the boy as miserable as possible.

As little good as that did.

Severus Snape would always hate Potter(s), and he would always love Evans. It was just the way the world was, the way the world was supposed to be.

And that was why he hated Harry James Potter, the picture of his godforsaken father, and the incarnation of his loving mother.

Welp that was entertaining.

I s'pose I should start to write Chapter 5 of TTGWW. I have had the starting draft saved for quite some time.
