Episode One.
Cream of Evil.
The observatory was not the most attractive building. Goku, merry as usual, was ready waiting outside, like he had been for some time. Chichi had wanted to come, only Gohan he felt was old enough to come, some very important information was about to be passed onto him. It was a fine day, no clouds filled the sky, so clear was the day that Goku could see his son arriving. Gohan, dressed in a suit and his glasses, landed smoothly some three feet away from Goku—this time there was no cheery hello, Gohan bore only part of his fathers constant optimism.
"Are the first here?" Gohan asked.
Goku nodded. "Yup."
"Are you gonna explain what this is all about?"
Goku shrugged. "I know only a little more than you do," he said, "did anyone else mention that they might be coming?"
"I can think of one who'll come for sure."
Goku nodded. This was surely Vegeta. He was supposedly their Prince, as the Prince of the Saiyans, but they'd never treated him like royalty, especially not on Earth.
Guru emerged from the Observatory and welcomed them in. Goku could sense no power from this man, he was a simple scientist, a scientist who'd discovered something. In the main lab, a large chamber where the telescope rested, Piccolo stood, investigating the equipment.
"I take it he is another one," Guru said, plainly unaware that the Namek had been there.
"This is Piccolo." Piccolo grunted. "So. What's this all about?"
Gohan's one was tolerated—there had been peace of Earth for years now, nothing to disrupt life, the presence of the Z-Fighters could only mean the pending arrival of some new threat, some enemy or worse, enemies. As this was said, Vegeta arrived. His expression was still mean, he frowned and landed—dropping in through the hole in the observatory roof, from which the telescope stuck.
With the main Z-fighters present, the scientist got to the point, and showed them an experiment. It involved accelerating life and time or something, in a compressed space. He'd said before hand, that they'd shouldn't worry too much about understanding the science of it. During the experiment, he killed five insects, each of a different species. Because time had been so rapidly accelerated, they moved very quickly, living their lives in a matter of seconds. The point of it was, that after a few minutes, another insect emerged, it was a mould of all five.
"You see." The guru said, "every thing that one person kills goes to the same place, and when you've killed enough, it comes back as a single organism. I've been watching you're movements closely, and I know about Freeza and Cell and the others—by logic, you have an unstoppably powerful enemy headed this way, any time soon."
The arrogant Vegeta remained unimpressed, making no signs of fear. He merely folded his arms. Goku however, was taking it seriously, and Piccolo too. Gohan was already ready to fight—as if expecting the enemy to emerge at any second, that would be their luck.
Guru waved his hand. "This enemy will definitely not emerge for less than two years yet—I felt that as the guardians of Earth, so to speak, you should be kept informed."
Vegeta snorted a laugh. "Introduce me to this creature now." He grunted. "Ill send it back where it came from right away."
Piccolo was angry. "Haven't you been listening?!" he walked over and looked down at Vegeta, "this creature is a mix of every enemy we've ever fought! This isn't something to be taken lightly!"
Vegeta raised a hand and gently pushed the Namek away. "All based on some theory? Look at you all—wetting yourselves over this? You sicken me."
With that, Vegeta flew away muttering something about it being a big waste of time.
