Disclaimer: At long last, I write something! X Files inspired poem, but it
can totally stand alone. Whee! Hit two birds with one stone. (Ooh, that
rhymed.) Anyway, poem copyright me, X Files copyright Chris Carter.

THE TRUTH
By Scatterheart
~~
At last we come so close
to the truth that seemed so far to you
You'd turned to the stars
Not knowing the truth
was right in front of me and you
For the truth
we've searched through
stars and oceans, through and through
Solemn nights
when I've closed
my eyes and thought of
my truths to you
But your closed doors
and my walls of unscalable gloom
had pooled our tears
together within the confines
of a lacquered room
The coldness
had surrounded us, it's true
When the rays descended
I thought that hollow pain
was the only truth I've thawed to you
And the rain in its
luscious rhythm upon
my windowsill
Would you show at my door
flowing in the raindrops
that surrounded you?
And would I let you in, still?
I will.
For the stars
will not outshine the solitude
of a single red moon
I am the pool of warmth
beneath you, my heart
I hold no truths but the truth
of the hearts of two
And I will follow you
my heart, I will go
through all the roads
your glowing soul may choose
And our hearts unloose the truths
the passions
our passions and untruths
have closed.
