Confirmations of Love
Seto Kaiba sat alone at his dimly lit desk, most of the lights turned off. He sat, a pen in his hand as he sat the last of the paperwork in a pile on his desk. The only sound in the room was the soft ticking of the clock mounted on the wall. He sighed softly, leaning against the padded back of his chair, relaxing slowly, before the door opened. He looked up as Joey stepped in, shutting the door behind him, sending the room into darkness.
"Hey... Y'know... Valentines day was a few days ago... But... I didn't get one of those... Poems you usually write..." Joey said, walking up and leaning on the edge of the desk. "I couldn't think of what to write then...." Seto said in reply, sitting forward in his chair. AT his words, Joey pulled out a crumpled piece of paper, flattening it in front of Seto, smiling, "Why don'cha write it now?" Seto looks at him, a wide grin on Joey's lips.
Seto looked down tot he paper and slowly began to write. Joey stood and walked around the table, moving to Seto's side and wrapping his arms gently around Seto's shoulders, setting his cheek against Seto's soft hair.
They stayed like this for a half an hour, each content with the other's company, before Seto placed his pen down on the table, sighing softly, "Finished." Joey removed his arms from Seto's shoulders and lifted the crumpled paper into his hands, reading through the poem slowly.
'Violets and Roses just are not my thing,
They usually use that line just to start;
The lines they use never let the love ring,
Originality comes from the heart.
To be sure the love I give you is true,
I'm writing a poem that is from me;
Not the corny ones that say 'I love you,'
Though that is what I want you to see.
Forever and always my love is yours,
I just love having you right next to me;
I don't want to hide this behind closed doors,
I'm not afraid and I want them to see.
I know that Valentines is not today,
But 'I love you' is what I had to say.
Once he had finished reading, he set down the paper looking to Seto, gazing into his crystal blue eyes, "I... Wow... I love you too." At this, Seto smiled, gently pulling Joey's face to his own, pressing their lips together in a soft kiss.
