Hunter

I am swift and silent hunter,
Tightly wrapped about in night,
Cloaked and relentless seeker;
The enemy of the light.

With urgency awakening,
The Dark Power of the East,
Sends a peal of thunder breaking,
So heralding our release.

A storm of darkness now unleashed,
To search and scour the land,
Astride a fell and sable beast,
Stretching forth the Master's hand.

Spurring northwards, hooves a'pounding,
Driven on in urgent quest,
Upon the moor, cry is sounding,
Never to pause, nor to rest,

Until our quarry is sighted,
And at last, brought to the ground.
Be its fate forever blighted,
As black horsemen circle round.

Then dragged back before the Great One,
In the instant that it dies,
It knows the pain has just begun,
When the Master takes his prize.
