The First Lesson
The two year old turtles woke up to something smelling wonderful. They rushed into the kitchen and found Splinter cooking something on the stove with a frying pan. He was using a spatula to cook what was in the pan. On the counter was some bread on a plate and next to the bread was a mixing bowl with a wooden spoon.
"What are you making?" Mikey asked.
"I am making French toast and scrambled eggs," Splinter replied.
"Any particular reason?" Donny asked.
"I wanted to do something special before we start our first ninja lesson," Splinter explained.
"Neat!" Raph exclaimed.
"It smells really good," Leo said.
The turtles sat down at the table and anxiously waited for their breakfast. A few minutes later, they each received a plate with French toast and scrambled eggs and Splinter sat down with his own plate of food.
Splinter and the turtles chatted while they ate. When they were done, Splinter had the turtles go sit down in the dojo while he cleaned up.
The turtles were sitting in the dojo happily chatting with each other. Just then, Splinter entered the room.
"Please stand and face me," Splinter instructed and the turtles did just that. "I will be teaching you ninjutsu so you can learn to defend yourselves. During our lessons, you shall address me as either Master Splinter or Sensei. We will start off with basic katas and go from there as your skills develop and improve."
Splinter started the lesson. He gently corrected each turtle if they made a mistake and was very encouraging.
Splinter ended the training session an hour later. He mentioned that they would work on meditation during the next session and then let the turtles leave the dojo.
Leo decided to go talk to Splinter. He found him in his room.
"May I talk to you?" Leo asked.
"Come on in," Splinter said and then Leo entered the room.
"I wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed the lesson."
"I am pleased to hear that since we will have these lessons every day."
"Could we have one on one lessons?"
"I will think about it."
Leo thanked Splinter and the two of them wrapped their arms around each other. Then Leo left the room.
Later that night, the turtles were hanging out in the living room. They were tossing a ball around.
"My sons, it is time for bed," Splinter said, entering the room.
The turtles rushed over to Splinter who gathered them in his arms. The turtles returned the gesture and they released each other a couple minutes later.
The turtles decided to sleep near the sofa. They snuggled up together and Splinter covered them with a blanket. Splinter laid down next to the turtles. Then all of them fell asleep.
The End
