Disclaimer: If I don't own Naruto what would make you think I owned Bleach. Really now.
Ichigo sat in one of the dingiest, shadiest, and down right lousiest bars in all of the Soul Society. The only good point to this place was their sake, which was surprisingly good. So there he sat at a table hidden in the shadows of the poorly lit establishment drowning his sorrows in sake while listening to his companion rehash every mistake Ichigo had made in their last battle.
And who was his drinking buddy you might ask? It was none other then Zaraki Kenpachi himself.
Now it would have shocked most every soul reaper to see the pair drinking together. After all they hated each other, right? Well if things had stayed how they had been then you would have been correct in your assumption. But it would seem that after their first couple of battles it was decided that Ichigo and Kenpachi had to curb their enthusiasm in fighting each other. This held true for Kenpatchi mainly because Ichigo didn't want to get into fights with him but he had no choice.
The destruction caused by their fighting had escalated to the point where it was feared that the Soul Society wouldn't be able to withstand another battle. The two had been called to Yamamoto Genryusai's office and told to cut it out or they would be kicked out. They had also been given boundaries as to where they could fight, i.e. the training areas.
Ichigo had thought that all he'd have to do was ignore those areas; and that had worked, kind of. When he had refused to go to a training area for a fight with Kenpatchi the guy had started following him around. Challenging him over and over and causing a lot of disruptions.
So Ichigo had finally given in. They had agreed that since they couldn't try to destroy each other all out that they would have a referee who would decide when enough was enough. The winner was the guy who had lost the least amount of blood.
Ichigo had lost that first fight, he swore it had something to do with Yachiru being the referee. It wasn't until Ichigo's first win against Kenpachi that they started going to the bar together. He had started to leave when Yachiru and cornered him and told him that since he was 'Kenny's best friend' he should bring him to his favorite drinking hole to cheer him up.
Ichigo had learned early on that it is a bad idea to say no to the pink haired little girl if you didn't have to, so he'd gone drinking with Kenpachi. He would never forget the looks he had gotten hanging out with the crazy captain of division 11.
After that fight it became a regular occurrence for the loser of their battles to buy the winner drinks. This has turned their battles into more of a contest of endurance than an actual fight. Ichigo can't decide if this bugs him or not. Kenpachi is unfazed by it all since he gets to fight one of his strongest opponents on a regular basis.
The rest of the Soul Society just breathes a collective sigh of relief that all that needs repairing after one of their fights is a training ground and anyone who might have gotten in the way, but its better than the two bring the place down around their ears.
Yachiru is tickled pink about this arrangement, because after all Ichigo is Kenpachi's best friend, even if she is the only one who believes it.
A/N: Got the idea for this after watching episode 54 where Yachiru claims Ichigo is Kenpachi's best friend. I loved the looks of disbelief on everyone's faces.
