Watching "National Treasure", my first thought was to regard Ian's entourage as standard hired muscle...but when Ian tells the others that they're mistaken if they think he values their lives more highly than Shaw's, I started thinking...
(Come on, we all know I don't own it!)
Right-Hand Man
Jail allows time for reflection. Ian Howe finds loss nagging him, like a kernel of popcorn caught between his teeth. The treasure should have been his. He was that damned close. Being outsmarted by Gates stings; Ian's always prided himself on his brains, but there's no denying it: impatience and greed have caused his greatest loss. What the devil will he do without Shaw after he gets out of jail? (He can plead or pay his way out...Gates doesn't understand the power of money.) A good right-hand man, though, is worth his weight in gold.
