Author's Note: While I haven't played the game, I watched a friend play and thus got to see all of the cut scenes. After seeing the end of Terra's story this had to be written. Yes, it is very short but I am pleased with how it turned out. The format on fanfiction still bugs me, but I've fixed it all it can be fixed. Remember to let me know what you think of it.

Some say that ghosts are left by strong hearts, strong souls, strong minds. That they are found in places where the exceptional dwelled and left imprints of their own self through the strength of their actions. The last whisper of that strength. A last remnant of themselves.
Terra had never believed in ghosts. They were things whispered of in legends and stories. They were immaterial and irrelevant to his training. But eventually Terra left his own ghost behind.
When he stared down at a sleeping princess who wouldn't wake he whispered, he vowed as his heart was breaking, "Never. Never again."
When he realized the danger that could come and ordered his friends home, his loyalty overcame the want for their company, "Never like that. This is not worth you getting hurt."
When he discovered the price for Hades' "power of darkness" he thought to himself with determination, "Never. Not that way. Not for me."
When he faced the destruction of his friend, his heart roared it's refusal, "Never! Not him. Not now, not ever."
And when he was almost completely consumed, all of that left it's mark. When Xehanort stood, smug and triumphant in the shell that had once been Terra, something of Terra remained.
One last hint of loyalty, of strength, of determination, of grief, of rage, of everything he had ever stood by and stood for. It whispered at that being of darkness and malice, "Never. Never, never, never."
When it all seemed lost, one ghost stood up to fight the dark. One last remnant of a keyblader. Of a strong heart, a strong soul, a strong mind.
One last remnant of Terra.
