a/n: i ship traci and steve really hard, i think it's time for her to get over jerry and be truly happy. enjoy!
Time goes by so fast, thought Traci. Steve pulled up in front of her apartment complex and she couldn't help but sigh. Tonight had been great, the wedding went as planned and for once in a long time, and she actually enjoyed herself. Her mind drifted to Jerry but she shoved it back and looked at Steve, a curious look on his face.
"What are you thinking about?" He had turned on the light so he could clearly see her.
"Nothing, never mind. Thanks Steve, I had a really good time. Good night. "
"Let me walk you to your door." Steve got leaving Traci dumfounded.
As she used her key to open the front door she thought about the last time a man offered to walk her to her door, well beside Jerry. She felt a bittersweet pang come from her heart and once again she sighed. Traci seemed to be dealing with so many things internally she sometimes let them mingle externally.
Traci stood in front of her apartment, keys in her hand and her heart racing at a hundred miles per hour. She smiled at Steve and hugged him, their hug lasting a little longer than usual.
Weirdly, she didn't want the night to end.
So just as they parted, they caught each others' eyes; Traci stared into bright blue ones while Steve gazed into chocolate browns. Traci didn't realize they had somehow gotten closer and that their lips were a few centimeters apart.
All of a sudden she felt his lips claim hers hungrily and to say she was amazed was an understatement. Her lips seemed to move on their own as she closed her eyes and let herself get lost in the kiss. He was dominant, firm and possessive she noted, her hands linked around his neck while his roamed under her striped shirt.
Something ticked in Traci's mind and she pulled away, surprised with herself for getting so swept off her feet, especially by Steve Peck.
Traci forced her keys into the keyhole, fleeing the scene and overall him. What happened between them shouldn't have happened, it could possibly ruin their future dynamic and she thought about getting involved with another man so quickly wouldn't be the best thing for Leo and her. Her heart was still beating very, very fast as she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
Leo was at her mother's house so she didn't have to worry about him tonight; he loved his grandma's place. She threw her purse on the couch and made a beeline for her bedroom. She was tired and her encounter with Steve had her touching her lips.
She didn't want to admit but, she liked it. Scratch that, she loved it.
Steve Peck was someone she should have never gotten involved with but as she thought about where their encounter would have lead to, she was somewhat proud of herself for escaping and a little disappointed about looking like a wimp.
She changed into her pajamas and snuggled into her sheets, a part of her wishing Jerry's warm body was next to her. The dreams about Jerry hadn't gone away and still to some extent bothered her. It was tough knowing that the person she dearly loved had been taken away from her too soon.
She stopped crying a long time ago – she was drained of tears and knew it wouldn't do anything to solve the problem.
She opened her eyes in the darkness and thought about Steve some more. He was nice, made her laugh and could be tolerable when he wasn't acting like a cocky bastard all the time. But she liked him; he had something particular that drew her to him. He was easy to talk to and didn't mind listening to her.
Traci closed her eyes before she let her thoughts consume her entirely to the point she couldn't sleep. She forces herself to dream about something that makes her happy for once.
What a coincidence it ended up being Steve Peck.
