It was after the fashion show. I was watching Adrien and his father talk to Audrey, Chloe's mom.
"This hat is not a "Gabriel Agreste." Are you responsible for that?" Audrey asked me.
"Uhm," I murmured. Adrien leaned towards me.
"Stand proud." He whispered. I smiled at him, and shifted so that I was standing tall.
"I-I'm the one who created it." I said nervously.
"It's the most exceptional thing I've ever seen! You're a visionary, Marinette! Glitter's had its day. Feathers are the trend of tomorrow! I haven't felt this much emotion since… you." Audrey said, directing her last words at Gabriel.
"She does have talent." Gabriel said smiling at me.
"You want to be a fashion designer, right?" Audrey asked me.
"Uh, Yes, ma'am." I said.
"Then come to New York with me! I'll make you the biggest name in fashion! I'm sure you'll even upstage Gabriel." Audrey exclaimed. My heart dropped. I couldn't leave Paris. So long as Hawkmoth was here, I had to be here.
"I'll be able to model for you!" Adrien said. He looked so happy, I really didn't want to let him down, but I had a duty to the citizens of Paris. My mother placed her hand on my shoulder.
"We'll be here for you honey, no matter what you decide on." She said.
"My helicopter will be leaving for the airport at 8 p.m. tonight." Audrey said, putting her sunglasses back on.
"Isn't this awesome for Marinette, Chloe?" Adrien asked the depressed blonde.
"It's... It's ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!" Chloe exclaimed, "I've never been to New York with you and you're taking Marinette Dupain-Cheng!"
"I'm taking her because she's exceptional Claudette. Uh— Chloe." Audrey said.
"I'm exceptional, too!" Chloe said. She was so sad I almost felt bad for her. Almost.
"The only exceptional thing about you, my dear… is your mother." Audrey said. Adrien and I both shared a sad look.
"Ugh! I'll show you how exceptional I can be!" Chloe exclaimed. She then took out a jewelry box. It looked like one of the miraculous boxes. When she opened it it glowed, just like mine had.
"No!" I shouted. It was the Bee Miraculous. The one I lost.
"How may I please you my queen?" Pollen asked.
"Pollen, buzz on!" Chloe called.
"I am Chloe Bourgeois and from now on I'll be your new superhero, Queen Bee! We'll soon see if you think Dupain-Cheng is still more exceptional than moi! Spinning Top!" Queen Bee stated.
"Chloe, give the miraculous back!" I shouted.
"What, you think you can take my powers from me. Well guess what, you can't. Who's better now." Chloe said smugly. She swung off with her newly found powers.
"Great, now what am I going to tell Master Fu. Sorry, I lost the Bee Miraculous while I was trying to defeat Style Queen, and now Chloe Bourgeois, the biggest brat on the planet, has it in her possession? Like that'll end well. What am I going to do, Tikki." I began to rant, forgetting where I was, exactly.
"My Lady?" Adrien asked.
"What did you just call me!?" I exclaimed. Adrien didn't call me that, Chat called Ladybug that. My parents looked confused, as did Gabriel, but for some reason less so.
"It's you!" He said, unable to control his smile. He pulled me into a hug, spinning in circles.
"Kitty?" I whispered, so only he could hear. He looked at me and nodded. His smile was to cute.
'How am I going to focus during patrols now!' I thought to myself.
