A simple glance and enchantment,
Blink and its gone,
Film strips through the blinds-
Scenes from a bygone era
Of Innocence and trust;
Forgotten clips of untameable hair,
Shaggy, black dogs,
And admiring friends.
The lust of a pause button
Grows something unbearable
And an unsuspecting assignment
Bears its wrath,
'X' marks the spot of betrayal
And guilt
("Oh, Padfoot."
Silence answers the anguish and pity.)
For those who don't understand (Sorry), the poem is describing a moment during the Prisoner of Azkaban, where Remus looks out of the window (which had blinds) and sees the pupils during lunchtime having fun, which causes him to remember his time at Hogwarts with James, Sirius and Peter. All of his negative emotions towards these memories makes him unconsciously mark a piece of homework with a cross. The ending shows him sighing out, almost in woeful question - why?
