I don't own Harry Potter or any of the characters.

It was a week after James Potter and Sirius Black returned from Christmas Break at Potter Manor. Everyone was back at Hogwarts. James and Sirius were planning their next big prank. But they had a small problem, little Peter Pettigrew was interrupting them whenever they tried to plan.

Peter really didn't have any friends. In fact, during their first term Peter ran away from Sirius when Sirius came near him. That also meant he ran from James because James was almost always with Sirius. James tried to talk to Peter but he soon found that was impossible.

However, ever since Christmas has ended, he was always trying to see what the two boys were doing. Both James and Sirius found this to be very annoying.

"James, what are we going to do about our new fan club? We can't let him see what we are going to do to Snape."

"I don't know. Maybe we can get that Lupin kid to distract him."

"We tried that last time and we ended up in detention with Hagrid. I like the bloke but billywigs aren't my favorite creature."

"We could always invite him along. No one likes Snape, so we trust he won't tell on us. If he does, then it's another night with the billywigs and Peter gets and broken nose."

"Ahh, now that's the Black that I know and hate. We can't punch Peter because we got a detention. But you're right; we have to invite him along. Maybe we can use him to distract the professors. It's scary how McGonagall always knows when we're up to no good."

"Fine, James, I won't punch him... yet. I hope that after this he'll just leave us alone. The prat is dead annoying. Why is he even hanging around us? I thought he was afraid of me."

"How am I supposed to know? He ran away from me too. Maybe he finally gained some sanity."

"Or maybe he's finally gone mental. I mean, who would want to hang out with you."

"You do!"

"Yeah, but I'm mental."

"Hey guys. What are you doing?" Peter suddenly popped up from nowhere.

"Bloody, Peter, don't do that. I don't want a heart attack at eleven." Sirius gave him a look of dislike. Peter was oblivious to the fact that Sirius was about to punch his nose.

"Okay, Pudge-pudge, we have a very important mission for you. We need you, Pudge-pudge, to go to Professor McGonagall and ask her twenty pointless questions."

"Why?"

"Because we told you to," said James as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

The three went there separate ways. Peter tried to distract McGonagall and, Sirius and James went toward Snape who was in the library. They sat on either side of Snape.

"Hello, Snape." The greasy-haired boy glared at them. His head turned toward James.

"Go away Potter, Black. I have important work to do." James smiled at Sirius as Sirius pulled out his wand.

What happened next was a mystery to everyone but the two Gryffindors. One moment Snape was sitting in the chair a large red and gold canary took his place. The canary glared at Sirius as well as a canary could.

Snape got an evil glint in his eyes. He pecked at the two other boys. Then...

"Hey guys. Who's the bird?" said Peter. McGonagall was behind him.

"Black, Potter, and Pettigrew; detention with Hagrid tonight."

"Peter, what are you doing here?" asked Sirius.

"McGonagall said I could get my twenty pointless questions answered in the library."
