"It is certainly raining cats and dogs huh," said a smooth and charming voice coming from my right. I turn away from my pack of cigarettes, studying a tall drenched man in a dark wet suit. The only features that are visible about this man are his pale skinned face and his alluring crimson eyes, full of softness and amusement.
"Yeah…" I mumbled in response as I take one cigarette out, attempting to light it. His dark gloved hands reaches over with a lighter ready as I dip my cigarette into the small glowing light. "Thanks," I say, after I took a puff of smoke.
"It is a pity," that smooth and charming voice again, "that such a fine young man like you would end up addicted to such foolish, filthy things"
I start to snicker, turning away from yet another one of my lecturers. "I don't care," is my only response towards his comment because I really don't. Life is probably way too long for me and I would rather indulge myself into all the pleasures of the world than living a long and boring life without a single thrill. Looking at both situations, which exactly are the ones 'alive,' I wonder.
"I heard you playing on that stage back at the bar," the man says.
"Oh yeah?"
"You were a great bass player"
"Thanks," I answered with a small smirk, "but it's strange though. No one ever notices the bass player. They'd usually notice the singer or the guitar player"
"I hope not," he says in one of his proper tones.
"Well it's true. Could it be that you're a fag?"
"… I'm sorry?"
"Ah," I exhale another puff of smoke, "you don't like to be referred to as this way huh. Then I'll just say it straight out. Are you a homo?"
The man pauses for a few moments, letting the sounds of the pouring rain fill the gaps of our conversation. Then he answers with a chuckle, "Who knows"
"You're one weird dude," I say, flicking the remaining part of the cigarette into the wet muddy road. "So have you ever played any kinds of instruments?"
The man thought for a second, "yes… yes I have"
"Really, what kinds of instruments?" I asked, slightly interested.
The man smiles, "what kind you ask, now this question would result in a long answer"
The man smiles, arching that crimson eyes of his, which somehow sends shivers down my spine and throughout my very bones. "What's so funny?" I ask, backing a little. I feel a little uneasy towards his smile and yet still captured by his unexplainable charm.
"… Nothing. Nothing at all"
The man shifts in the shadows, wrapping his coat tighter onto his blouse. "Well, it was great talking to you. I've had a lot of fun. Could you tell me your name?"
I stare back into at his flashing orbs which makes me feel a certain familiarity to it and that made me feel more… secure.
"It's Ren," I answer, "what's yours?"
"Me? My, you must've had a huge memory loss to be able to forget me"
"…Huh"
The man edges closer towards my face until his mouth is right next to my ear. I can feel his hot breaths on my cheek. "Then," he whispers, "I'll remind you again. My name is Sebastian. Sebastian Michaelis and I am pleased to make your acquaintance again in this life time of yours"
