Make the Bad Dream Go Away

"Daddy, daddy, wake up." I whisper, shaking.

You open your eyes look into mine.

I feel like such a child now. A small, frightened child.

"What is it, Lloyd?" You ask, half awake.

"I had a bad dream. Please make it better, daddy. Make the bad dream go away." I answer, still trembling.

You pull me close and run your finger through my hair, whispering that it will be okay.

I feel like such a child. Scared by a dream, so now I need your comfort.

I don't like this feeling, it makes me feel weak.

"Lloyd, I love you." You murmur softly.

And then you kiss me.

And now I don't feel like a child anymore.

I'm laying next to the man I love, and everything's alright.

"I love you too, Kratos." I whisper back.

I wrap my arms around you, feeling safe and happy.

I'll always feel better with you. You can make the bad dreams go away.
