She remembers when he first thanked her for saving him from his spiral of desperation. She said that the world needed him and she just had to make him see he was important to humanity. Months had passed, missions were accomplished and friendships were rebuilt and they were closer to each other every day, silently falling in love. She was blind not to see that he had always been there with her, ready to rescue her whenever trouble was near and willing to give his life for her.

When he went MIA she felt lost. Not just because she had just lost the man she loved but also because it had finally hit her. She might have saved him but he had saved her long before she did. Hiring her, turning her into Watchtower…he gave her purpose. She finally felt useful to someone and not just the poor sidekick left behind when danger was too big for her to handle. She became THE sidekick: she brought the heroes home and cracked every kind of system that dared getting in her way . She had a family to rely on and to love and protect. He gave her that and she realized it too late.

He was gone and she could do nothing to save him. Chloe could fight but the doubt that Oliver, her Ollie, could be dead was becoming her death. The League was always there by her side and so was Lois but nothing could compare with the sensation of safety he used to give her with his only presence.

-What're you doing outta bed? Emil said you should rest- warm arms wrapped around her and she could feel again that safety he used to give her since the beginning.

-I'm pregnant, Romeo, not dying. You'd better go back, instead! The patrol was hard and your ankle is going to hurt you tomorrow and…-he kissed her before she could start talking too much. He swept off her feet and carried back to their room.

-By the way: what were you doing out there. It's freezing!-he kissed her forehead and she put her head on his chest to rest.

-Thinking of someone I used to know-she simply answered before falling asleep.
