To be fair, no one had expected Damian to be allergic to bees. It was unfathomable. He was a trained assassin and experienced vigilante. Bees weren't even on his radar. On anyone's radar.
That was their mistake.
That was Tim's mistake.
He thought Damian had been acting, being dramatic, clutching at his throat and wheezing, an irritated area of skin noticeable beneath his domino mask. Tim had snapped at him, told him a bee sting wasn't anything to whine about. Damian had just looked more desperate.
That was when Tim realized maybe Damian wasn't faking it.
It was also when Damian collapsed.
If Tim had been quicker. If Tim had been smarter. If Tim had believed his brother. If. If. If. So many ifs. Too many ifs.
It was Tim's fault his little brother was dead, no ifs about it.
