You were born that day, that one special day that seems so far now. You never knew Momma, but even though we lost her, we gained you. That whole day you never cried. I knew you would be perfect, my little imouto.
You took your first step that day. Dad was out working. He was still healthy then. Shunkei was getting his nap. Gokuran and Chuei were helping Dad. It was my turn to watch you. I watched as you pushed yourself up and took a step towards me. You wore such a big smile on your face. You knew what you had done. Even when you fell you didn't whimper. You just crawled the rest of the way to me, burbling happily, my little imouto.
You said your first word that day. Breakfast. You were becoming a good little walker, and were always by my side. I got up to clean off my dish. You put your arms up towards me. You cried out "Nii-chan!" We all froze. You kept bouncing in your seat, repeating "Nii-chan! Nii-chan!" You didn't stop until I picked you up. You were so proud of yourself. We were all proud of you, my little imouto.
We said goodbye for the first time that day. You didn't want to let me go. You called Master a "big meany man" for taking your Nii-chan away. I told you I'd be back. I'd bring money for Papa and a nice gift for you. You didn't let go until it got to be time for your nap. You'd held onto my leg for hours. I kissed you goodbye then, my little imouto.
You're taking your last breath today. You're killing me on the inside, but you're smiling. You never cried except when I had to leave. But I'm here now. I'm here, holding you like I did the day you were born. The day you walked just for me. The day you talked just for me. The day you held on, just for me. I don't want to say goodbye again. You're holding up a necklace to me. You made it for your onee-san, for Miaka. You made it just for her. You're proud of yourself. You're smiling still. You're getting pale. No, my little imouto, don't go. Don't go, my little imouto. Don't go…

I just thought this would be a sweet tribute to the cute littlest sibling of Tamahome. (I'm weak for the cute ones. Which is why I squeal every time I see Chiriko. Really. I melt for Chichiri and squeal for Chiriko cuz he's JUST DARN CUTE!) Ja minna!
STORY RECOMMENDATION!!
The Tale of the Sad Gods, by Tipan Kalima

Why should you read it?
- It's a wonderful and original story idea. The summary the authoress gives seems generic, but the story itself is anything but. There are some grammatical problems that occur on occasion in the story, but this issue is surpassed by the style and creativity of the authoress found within the text. Overall a wonderful story for Fushigi yuugi fans.
