"I'm just going to have to tell her," Daphne Greengrass said to herself as she paced backwards and forwards in the empty classroom. She twiddled her fingers against one another, trying to calm the butterflies that were currently taking up residence in her stomach. Butterflies that really had no business being there, she was supposed to be a Slytherin for Merlin's sake!
She licked her lips and swallowed. She felt her resolve hardening as she heard the sound of a familiar set of footsteps. She was going to do it. She was going to tell her other half that she wanted to end their relationship, that she couldn't take the pressure any more of hiding it from the Carrows and Snape and the other Slytherins. She just couldn't take it any more. She wanted…
"Hi Daphne!" an exuberant voice said with a smile and with one look at her fiery-haired girlfriend, Daphne felt her resolve vanish so fast she found herself wondering if it had ever existed. She grabbed Ginny's arm and pulled her into a powerful kiss that made her whole body tingle, then put her mouth next to Ginny's ear.
"I don't know how I'd cope without you," she whispered and Ginny pulled her into another kiss and a smile.
"When this is over, we'll be able to go on dates openly," she whispered back and Daphne prayed that one day it might actually come true.
