Prologue

Lights. Music. Alcohol. Desire.

"Beth!" Yelled the impatient boy, pulling the girl's arm.

"Leave me alone, Tommy!" She loosened from the boy's hands. "I don't have anything to talk to you and I'm working!" She approached and clenched her teeth. "And don't call me Beth when I'm working."

The girl scanned the place and walked to a man, who smiled at her.

"Good evening, sir!" She said, patting her hands on the man's shoulders and neck. "What's your name?"

"Robert. And yours?"

"Cotton."

"Hm..." The man passed his hand on the girl's stripped arm. "I see your skin is as soft as your name."

Both laughed and the boy, who watched the scene a few yards from there, had a sore and angry expression at the same time.

A car braked suddenly, burning the tires out, down the Bay Bridge. The back door opened, and a body was thrown into the water.

x

Police cars surrounded one of the sides of Bay Bridge.

Alexx was leaning over the body while Eric photographed the crime scene.

"What happened to you, honey?" Alexx passed her hand on the girl's face.

"What do we have, Alexx?" Asked Horatio, approaching and taking off his glasses.

"She has a cut on the left cheek, made by a pointed object. Something pushed her neck for a long time." Alexx's face was inches away from the girl's neck. "A rope? This mark repeats for the entire length of the neck. Whoever has done this, wanted to make sure that did it right. The dual lividity and the lack of blood in the scene show she was murdered in another place and then brought here. There's something hidden in here, Horatio. She was shot in the back, above the waist."

Alexx frowned and approached to the body.

"What?" Horatio asked.

"There's a paper on her hand." She said, catching a tweezers.

Eric photographed by different angles the girl's hand.

Alexx tried to loosen the girl's fingers and with lot of difficulty, introduced the tweezers in her hand. After a few seconds, Alexx managed to remove the small paper.

"Terrence E. Benson." She read.

"Well, seems like we already have a suspect." Horatio put his glasses on.
