Shino wasn't lonely.

Everyone wanted to believe he was truly an emotional person who just wanted to be saved from his solitude, but they were wrong. He was content with his entire existence, no matter how lonely others thought it was. No matter what anyone said, he didn't need anyone.

Shino wasn't ashamed of who he was.

There were suspicions among the village about the entire Abarame clan. Among the more popular rumours was that a particular Abarame youth was heartbroken over being somewhat exiled from the other ninja his age. They proposed that he was simply misunderstood, and loathed his very existence because of his lonliness. This was not the truth. To be precise, Shino was proud of his heritage and remained faithful to his clan. This wasn't a sentiment he shared with anyone but himself, so he didn't expect anyone to understand. He didn't care that his clan's secret jutsu disgusted others. He didn't.

Shino wasn't scared of tomorrow.

It was his job to keep his family tree alive and thriving, and that meant siring children. And siring children meant finding a bride, which meant he actually had to find a girl willing to marry him. It was going to be challenging, considering his reputation, but he couldn't be worried. His father had managed to get married, so he figured he could find a woman. It would be easy.

Shino wasn't lonely.

Shino wasn't ashamed of who he was.

Shino wasn't scared of tomorrow.

Shino is, however, a good liar.

Especially when he's lying to himself.
