I make it to the toilet before my breakfast gets up. I need to go hunt so Peeta will think everything is fine, but its not. I feel terrible, yet I am acting so happy, its so not me. At least Peeta went to the bakery early so he didn't have to see me like this. I look at the calendar to see two things: my period is a week late and Haymitch is out of liquor. So I grab a jacket and carry some rolls to his house. Ever since we announced we are getting married next summer he has been sober, even when he has liquor. Its really strange to see him dressed up and things.
Speaking of strange Haymitch and Effie are a couple, its terrible, but I am still happy for him. Effie hasn't changed a lot. She doesn't wear crazy hair and makeup any more. I was suprised to see he natural hair color is red.
"Oh, Katniss good morning," Effie says holding her rob tighter together, considering its cold and she more than likely doesn't have anything under it.
I walk in and see Haymitch reading, "Hey, you got those rolls?"
I nod smiling.
Effies leaves us to get dressed.
"So whats wrong?" Haymitch asks, knowing me is his talent.
"Nothing, hopefully," I answer. I hope he doesn't press the subject, of course he does, "My periods late," I blush a bright crimson red.
"So you think you're pregnant?" He asks.
"I'm pretty sure, this is terrible."
"How is it terrible, Peeta would love a kid," Haymitch laughs.
"Its just that if I have a kid. Its always possible, you know, the Games. I can't let my kids endure it," I shake my head.
"Katniss," He wraps his arm around me, "I'm not going to let that happen, I promise, we won't."
I shake my head feeling a little better, Haymitch may be arragont but he knows what to say to me, possibly more than Peeta, uh, I have to tell him next.
This is just a one shot. Reveiw if you want more, but I am not going to start a full story right now
