The Joker sighed in contentment as he felt the Dark Knight's hand run through his hair. Sure it was hard to breathe, and he hurt all over… but everything would be alright. Batman was telling him so.
He likes being held in his arms. The Bat is warm, and he's so cold. Batman said it was going to be alright… so why does he look sad? He doesn't want him to be sad. He sees something wet on his cheek. It hurts a lot, but he shakily manages to wipe away the tears on the Dark Knight's face.
(Don't cry, Bats. It was just a bomb. I'll be alright, you said so.)
The Joker felt the Batman's lips gently press against his own. Does that mean he loves him? Does he finally love him back? He hopes so. He loves him so much. Everything is all fuzzy, and it doesn't hurt anymore. He feels tired, and eyes droop. The Batman says something, but for some reason he can't hear him.
(Silly Bat, don't you remember? You said it was going to be fine… I know it is, because you'd never lie to me.)
He feels the Dark Knight hold him close, and finally lets his eyes slide closed. He knows it will be okay, even when everything goes black. Batman said so, so it must be true…
(Batman said so…)
