-Prologue-
Before the New Dawn
She was surrounded by crystals…and silence.
The crystals emitted a pale blue light, illuminating the dark cave with their eerie glow.
Deeper and deeper into the cave she walked. Soon the cave itself was made of the glowing crystals. Though the abundance of light from the crystals only caused the cave to feel more and more foreboding.
All at once the silence was broken by the sound of shattering crystals, and she was falling farther and farther.
And then there was nothing.
The girl jerked into a sitting position, sweat soaking her pajamas. She shivered as she pulled at the cloth sticking to her skin, whether it was from the nightmare or the cool air that filled the castle she wasn't sure.
"Kaida?" A worried voice penetrated the silence of the night.
"I'm fine Ryuu," the girl, Kaida, stated quietly.
"The nightmare again." Ryuu wasn't asking, they both knew the answer.
"It's still the same every time I have it." She pulled her knees up to her chest and ran her fingers through her sweat soaked hair.
"Alright. Remember, if it changes don't wait to tell me."
"I know…" she still remembered the argument that had come from her not telling him about the nightmare the first time she had it.
"Good. Now get some sleep, tomorrow's when it all starts." And with that, Ryuu rolled over and remained silent.
Kaida sat thinking about what changes the sun would bring with it. She sighed, as if the released breath would carry all the worry out of her body. It didn't work. She sighed again, this time in defeat, and laid back down.
Ryuu was right, she needed to sleep. After all, her first day at her new job started when morning came.
Slowly she fell asleep, thinking about her new job at the Black Order.
Gomen nasai, I know this was a short chapter. It is a prologue after all so it's not supposed to be really long.
I will try to make the chapters a decent size but I warn you when they get long like I'm planning on making them there are cliffies galore. Muahahahahaha!
Also I only need one review before I'll post the first chapter. So review please! Or I shall sic a soba deprived Kanda on you all! *evil laughter*
