Challenge

The story line is a simple one. It is basically the same as D.H. until the point where Ron Leaves. After Ron leaves, in an act of brashness Harry gets mad and ask Hermione to leave also. Harry never intended for her to leave, but she does and he feels slightly betrayed by the two. The story can be as canon as you want except Ron and Hermione do not return. The setting of the story will take place five to ten years in the future. After defeating Voldemort, Harry leaves Britain to find himself. Now five maybe ten years in the future at the annual celebration of the defeat of Voldemort, Harry shows up.

Guidelines

Harry realizes how much he cares and needs Hermione after she and Ron leave.

The story starts with harry in the future and use flashbacks to tell the story of Hermione and Ron's departure and the rest of the horcrux hunt and the fight with Voldemort. I don't care how canon the actual hunt and fight is as long as you don't use Ron using Parseltounge to open the chamber (Because that was the stupidest thing I think I have ever read).

Harry never got with Ginny. After Harry leaves he needs to have some significant relationship, but it ends tragically in death of his girlfriend or wife. It doesn't have to be death but something along the lines of the relationship ending tragically. What kind of relationship or even if he has a kid I don't care it is up to you as long as you can explain it well.

Harry comes back to Britain because of # 3.

I don't care if Hermione is with Ron in the beginning, but the story has to end HHr.

The rest is up to you to fill up the holes and make an interesting story.

Angst is good but too much angst can ruin a story.
